In my opinion, it should be mandatory and they shouldn’t have a choice in the matter. They’ll thank you when they hit 19-20 years old and they’re jacked.

You think I want them to be autistic and worry about macros? My boy is not there yet so maybe I'll reconsider in a few years.

I got my kids into sports, which led to lifting. Now that they are adults, they workout on their own.

Worked out with my nephew several times a week when he was 15 to help him gain some muscle mass
So yeah, I’d help train a future kid of mine. No desire to make them a meathead though.

My old man bought me 50kg of weights and two dumbbells for my 15th birthday true story. Miss him so much RIP.
EDIT: They are the 25mm holed ones, I used them with additions for years but upgraded to an olympic set years ago. Still have the original set minus the dumbbells.

100%. I'll probably get him a cycle of trenbolone for his 13th. No sense starting out high school without rippling muscles.

I don't know about "mandatory" but I would encourage young kids to do some resistance training whether it is bodyweight training or properly instructed resistance training. The key is to stick with simple movements that work multiple muscle groups; learn the movements properly and execute them slowly.

Interested in hearing why someone would be against having them train at that age

I will get my son on it at some point, probably around 15-16 or like someone already said, only srs when he has finished growing which can go on until at least 18 (but can also finish earlier). Interesting someone mentioned hgh for a teen, I have though of this myself before lol but dont think I would encourage it.

By that time it will be too laste. Start them at 4-5, with age appropriate exercises of course.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.
