How much can you achieve in a year if you really use your time wisely?

Much of my time is spent goofing off on the internet, and other mindless entertainment. I realized I have a lot of free time to do things.

Has anyone here ever devoted a year of their life towards achieving things?

I want to, every day:

learn a new language
learn boxing
get good at painting
get good at guitar
get good at public speaking
learn economics, finance, computer science
learn how to chat with strangers
expose myself to new cultures/interests
read a book every week
travel

etc etc

I feel like a lot can be achieved in a single year if I cut out internet usage, social media, video games/tv, etc.

I think a lot of us achieve a lot in our high school/college days and then go on to do nothing productive the rest of our lives.

Focus on 1 or 2 things that you want to accomplish the most so you don't get overwhelmed, like 1 hour a day on learning a new language or playing the guitar. Try to do that for a month, then add on more if you can handle it.

Going 0 to 100 you'll probably fail and fall back into your old habits.

10 years ago I had **** tons of bills. All my credit card were maxed out with high interest, Had federal and state tax bills both close to 15 k.

never had a really good job making tons of money but i had common sense and could count.

Started paying of all my bills using the snowball method and in a couple years paid them all off and finally started putting money into savings.

That savings led me to retiring early. Didnt happen in 1 year but that first year certainly made a gigantic change in my life,.

the catalyst for it was reading The Richest man in Babylon. srs
"To be a warrior is not a simple matter of wishing to be one. It is rather an endless struggle that will go on to the very last moment of our lives. Nobody is born a warrior, in exactly the same way that nobody is born an average man. We make ourselves into one or the other."– Carlos Castaneda

Depends on the year

Each of the COVID years were game changers financially

For the past week I tidied up an entire section of a park, spending on average about 2-3hours/day. The end result is that more people seems to be walking down this path now and the place looks alot neater.

Now this was just me doing volunteer work. If I had an entire crew of pajeets or illegal Mexicants working for me, we'd do some heavy heavy damage.

Also the homeless people are pissing me the fook off. They could be helping me clean up these streetz but they just lounge around(actually had a black ghey ask if I needed help but he looked sketchy af so I declined(literally had a machete in his backpack)).

If you have creative hobbies and you turn off the TV for a year, you can accomplish a lot. Making comic books, writing screenplays, etc.

With lifting you can get far with consistency

Have tried and failed.
Biggest distraction is internet and social media.

People tend to overestimate what they can do in a year and underestimate what they can do in 10

son your list is way too vague as ass

you have to get specific…."get good at painting" should become "sell one painting", or "complete a painting that will be good enough to showcase in my place" or whatever
"learn economics" =complete an online class in econ
"learn to chat with strangers" = walk to up at least 30 chicks and say MY COCK IS OUT SMACK CITY or whatever…you know son, chill it

smack out

Maybe, but you I think you can make progress using time goals as well. Such as spend X amount of hours a week painting.

IF your talking about $$$ that comes down to how much seed money you starting with and what investments/markets/knowledge you have access to.

IF you talking muscle/fitness, 1 year for substantial change means takes gear… natty lifting your looking at 5 years minimum.

If your talking education, you can complete a masters degree in 1 year (if you already finished under grad).. the work and course load will be insane but its doable.

Ultimately, 1 year isn't much in the big picture. Unless you step in crap and 1 year isn't going to offer much but is a good starting point. SRS

If you write comedy or do anything else creative, it’s better to slack six days a a week and write masterpiece level material once a week than it is to write mediocre level material seven days a week.
