What's the next good game to come out?

Literally crickets for months. Why no good racing games either? WRC, GT7, F1, Forza, all getting long in the tooth now. Back in the day there were all kinds of racers from Wreckfest to Project Cars. The whole gaming industry seems like it's just given up. Games which should have sequels, dont, and games that dont deserve them, do. Inb4 BaCkLoG tHo

This is the gaming industry in 2024. Not much to look forward to.

I think the reality is new games just take too long to develop these days. Even when they do finally release it usually takes months/years until they get patched up and have all the DLC included. Heck the DLC situation is why a lot of old games that released a while back are still really popular as current games. Like take Forza Horizon 5 and Gran Turismo 7 for example, they are always coming out with new updates, pretty much monthly, that introduce new cars and other content.

I do still play GT7 when an update lands. But said update only ever has maybe 5 hours of single player content. I worked my way up to A+/S on multiplayer but I've not raced online in about 8 months and I know I'll drop back down to A or even B+ if I start racing again because I'm out of practice. Tbh racing at that level is hard work, you can't make any fk ups and you need autistic levels of concentration, so it takes away some of the fun aspect. The new physics update require unlearning old habits and adapting to a new model too. I wish they'd decide on a physics model and just leave it the fk alone and save a better model for GT8.

Literally two of OPs games have sequels announced and likely two more very soon, not to mention AC Evo.
Car racing fans are loving life right now. Pretty sure there was a WRC and F1 game last year too.

Us MX bros are the ones missing out, we literally have MXGP and MX Sim... or Supercross if you're a gay American.

Yeah it's been annoying me how they keep messing with the physics as well. I had all of my cars perfectly in tune and the new physics forced me into having to retune basically everything and make some drastic changes to numerous cars. That and like you said, it's changed things enough to where I have to make some adjustments to the way I drive. Never really got into the serious competitive game, GT has become one of those e-sports where people take it very seriously and you gotta get really sweaty and dedicate a ton of time to really go far. That and I think it's basically a requirement to be using a serious sim racing wheel setup if you want to be really competitive and I prefer to just relax and play it with a controller.

For me the updates keep me coming back at least, if for any reason just to check out the new cars and build something new with them. Them finally adding Eiger Nordwand was a pretty big deal for me, that was the track from the old HD Concept game they had on PS3 before they released GT5. Probably one of my favorite fantasy tracks.

Space Marine is the next game I'm looking forward to. That looks like it'll be the best time for anything coming recently

This is the worst video game generation ever, but gamers have themselves to blame.

Back in the PS3 & 4 days Sony was pumping out high quality single player AND multiplayer games, but you *******s chose to play COD and GTA online instead. Now we have nothing but COD, fortnight, and assassin creeds over and over again.

Monster hunter Wilds is the only thing I'm really looking forward to.

Might check out the new Mana game on PC though.

Youtubers are sucking off Black Myth Wukong, so it may be worth keeping an eye on.

I still have a juicy backlog, but I eventually want to buy Rise of the Ronin and Stellar Blade. Saw particularly good things about the action in SB, and I played both demos.

KCD 2 is coming out this year. I played a lot of one, but didn't get around to finishing. Still need to finish that and FF7R.

For my online gaming, I've mainly been playing Street Fighter. Now is like the best time to play fighting games, so you may want to check one out if you haven't already.
I'm back, bitches!

Why is this the case? Like it doesn’t make sense to me why games are so expensive to make nowadays and take so damn long

I mean I understand inflation and all that but with all the technology advances and with how much money gaming makes I just don’t get it

I was really excited for it earlier this year, but the reports of the "insane" difficulty level and some of the hype-train bull**** is starting to make me have doubts.
