had wisdom tooth extracted and told not to lift for a week
i'd probably go light 5 days after. I did research and the socket needs time to heal and close properly. Lifting heavy can disrupt the healing process…

I've been in the position of feeling like I couldn't take time off work but if you're in the US then you should have some protections for your job, like FMLA, if you're worried they will fire you for taking time off.
If you're worried because you won't get paid for your time off, then you should try to suck it up and take care of yourself at least for a couple days.

The dentist told me I needed to get mine taken out 7 years ago. Mine are impacted on the bottom, X-rays showed them grown in sideways, however they have caused me zero pain to this day, so they remain.
I can’t imagine wasting time and money (it’s surgery - a big fkin deal) when they’ve caused no issues and my quality of life would decline going through the process of having them taken out vs. leaving them alone.
It’s all bullchit so dentists can pocket a few extra thousand dollars and push painkillers on you.
