Full sizes are just way too much money, and valveliftercollapsemaxx, and I'd just want a daily driver that can be fun on BLM land (govt land but public use) to hunt and go exploring on. Looks like the 2.7T engines can use regular gas too, so it wouldn't be that expensive to fuel either. I sent out an email to a local dealership to get a build quote and final price. Is this the way to midsize truckmaxx?

From what I understand getting pre approved and walking in with a blank check is the best and Credit Unions offer the best rates.


Should I find a good credit union and apply for a auto loan then go to dealer? At the dealer, is there a way to haggle down or are those days gone?

Toyota is upping production due to demand. I read the mags and it’s not doing performance wise what Toyota is saying. It’s a 5 sec car 0-60, 13 sec 1/4@103-5ish. Not bad but not great either. You can spec out a decent one for 40k.

Has anyone tested the limits of the motor? It’s already at 25psi on the stock turbo.

I was interested but not at 13 sec@105 performance.

I was thinking of getting a bike and enjoy the ride! I was privileged to ride with a body of mine and enjoyed the experience. It’s a lot of wind - and power but it felt awesome.

Any advice for a first time motorcycle rider? Anything I should know before getting started? Anyone love to teach… say in Ohio. 😂

If you’re finding car design lumpy, bland and timid these days, stand back and take notice of the Hyundai Ioniq 5. It’s so innovative even architects like it.

The creases and angles reference origami. Shadows and contrasting paint colors create illusions and play tricks with dimension and perspective.

A wide band across the front is the stylish home for the headlights and calls up the image of a scrappy Belted Kingfisher.

Finally, a new car that’s fun to describe.

Inside the vibe is cool and uncluttered like a home profiled in Architectural Digest where the owners don’t own a lamp a book or any window coverings. Nor do they appear to eat.

On top of all that, it’s all-electric. The unplug-and-go lifestyle is yours if you’re willing to relate months to get one.

There are five trim levels of the Ioniq 5 with a driving range spanning 354 km to 488 km determined by two available battery sizes.

My test vehicle was the Ioniq 5 Preferred Long Range with AWD and the Ultimate options package. The bigger battery and extended range, and the addition of the many Ultimate features including remote parking assist, sliding center console, and advanced Heads-Up Display with augmented reality. It was $61,824 when I tested it in May.

The Ioniq 5 has been a smash hit for Hyundai, selling out whenever a new allotment is released. People will pay for dazzle when it includes practicality and good performance.

Inside that hipster cool interior is abundant space. Though described as a compact SUV, the interior is airy and bright as a conservatory, with generous headroom, good visibility and a useful amount of storage space. A clever feature allows the backseat to move on fixed to rails so it can be pushed forward to accommodate extra cargo.

The seating position is high which will please those who like an SUV’s ergonomics. Front seats also recline and a footrest pops out for times when one might need a meditative break.

In the back passengers are treated to lavish space and light. The roomy real estate is not surprising since the Ioniq 5 has a longer wheelbase than the big 3-row Hyundai Palisade.

The super-decluttered dashboard functions well but I missed a knob to control heating and cooling. The single knob on the dash is for volume control, but otherwise one uses touch screen controls for most functions.

While driving, performance can be altered by choosing Eco, Normal, or Sport modes. I found Normal to be the best position. Horsepower ranges from 168 to a top speed of 320 depending on the model chosen. As with all-electric cars, power is instantaneous and torque-rich, propelling the Ioniq 5 from 0 to 100 km in 5.1 seconds.

The smooth ride and balanced handling are welcome particularly with spotty road maintenance in so many places. Steering was crisp but rather clinical.

By driving sensibly and mindfully, and using brake regeneration to recharge the battery, one could likely get by on one charge a week in an urban setting. I don’t have any way to charge at home so instead used a free public charger and left the Ioniq 5 overnight to top up to full range. The Level 2 charger found in most public locations will charge the vehicle in about 6 hours and 40 minutes. The rare and super expensive Level 3 fast charger does the job in a mind-boggling 17 minutes.

The Ioniq 5 is not without its oddities. The flush door handles while adding to the aerodynamic pizzazz of the Ioniq 5 were awkward to use. The omission of rear window wipers is puzzling and a potential annoyance for winter driving.

In most places, I stopped people who admired the bold looks of the Ioniq 5 but asked how long the battery would last. Hyundai covers the battery under an 8 year, 160,000 warranty and expects no more than a 70 percent degradation of the battery during the warranty period.

So, the buzz about the award-winning Ioniq 5 is electric. But customers will just have to be patient as demand is high and supply is short.

I'm digging the new gen Sequioa, but man the ADM on the TRD Pros are stupid.

Paid off
But keep having to do repairs
So it ends up costing $160-200 a month on repairs/depreciation. The number I came up with based on all the repairs I did.

Now I do Uber xl and Lyft xl with it on the side sometimes.

I have it listed for $5.5k

But I would need a replacement car
That is 2015+ suv type to qualify for Lyft xl
And I can’t find any that are cheaper than $10k

Most are $15k+

Granted the miles are lower and could be better condition and better mpg

But I don’t want to make monthly payments.

I know I’m making depreciation/repair payments now but I can’t figure out if it’s cheaper just to keep my car as it is and do that or sell it at it’s price of 5.5k or less and get a more expensive suv with less miles.

Just recently spent on tire repairs/tires and it was $1400


May spend another 300-400 getting o2 sensor and gasket replaced and $170 for car registration so don’t know if it’s worth selling

I know it’s a luxury car and I don’t need it at all since Lyft/Uber don’t qualify for Luxury rides anymore due to Covid as it was qualified for Uber select


So I’m paying higher gas/etc for no reason while only giving Lyft xl rides. Which is I want a suv that’s better on gas not luxury but they are still more $.

I have a 2018 370Z. I recently paid it off. I'm more concerned with aesthetic mods vs. engine mods at the moment. I'm not as hardcore of a car guy as others as I didn't grow up with friends who were into cars.

Anyways, the Z is my daily driver. I get it detailed once a year and generally keep it pretty clean. Almost 30K miles and it still looks new brand new both in and out.

The bodykit I want is only offered in FRP or Carbon. I'm leaning towards FRP cause I wanna paint it. But I started reading more about it and apparently FRP and Fiberglass crack easily. Wondering if it's even worth it for a DD.

Looks like this could be a reskinned 370z, so weight should be around 3200-3500lbs depending on trim packages.

As a current 370z owner I'm going to miss the N/A V6, but very excited to drive this car when it's released.

I figured the rest of the thread would be better here for the guys that actually have an active interest in cars.

I ordered the kit last year on Black Friday (Nov 29) and finally got an email from the factory that it's ready to ship. For those of you who don't know, the company was founded by Lee Noble and they started producing kits in the 80s using Renault parts and their V6 engine. Ultima released the GTR kit which used a Chevy V8 and a Porsche transaxle which is still the powertrain choice today, thouhg you can find a few here and there with Audi V10s and I think someone did a rotary in one. When developing the McLaren F1, an Ultima chassis was used to test the powertrain and the soon to be released T50 by Gordon Murray Automotive also uses an Ultima mule.

Their latest car, the RS, is what I ordered. I'm putting a Chevy LT5 crate engine in it with a gearbox from a 997 Porsche 911 Turbo. It's basically a fiberglass bodied 1000hp go kart- no driving aids, no ABS, etc.

I really don’t know chit about a lot of cars and just kind of going off what I think is fun / cool. My biggest problem is I very much like having very high end things and am less satisfied when I know there is a better version of somthing out there. That being said I’m also realistic.

First car I’m thinking of would be a 911 turbo s in python green. How hard would it be to track down a specific color / model for this? I more then likely don’t need turbo s, but it just seems like I might as well go all out if I’m already looking at a 911.

At a cheaper price point but maybe a bit too flashy I was thinking of trying to get my hands on a black c8 z06 when they come out.

I’ve always liked old corvettes 68-71. This whole rabbit hole started when I started looking for old 68-69 black stingrays. Obviously much cheaper and would still make me happy getting an old classic that’s unique in its own way.

Or have had passing thoughts on just saving cash and getting somthing nice and fun but not high end like a new Supra.


Wouldn’t need to buy anything for months yet, no rush, just seeing how realistic maybe getting the first two would be say if I had 250k ready to drop on the Porsche if I could get exactly what I wanted. It's not just these two, but all these YT that buy million dollar super cars and **** they're just so fake, but I guess they have to do it to keep their young viewers who eat their chit up.
