What's with the low iq miscers trying to deny the fact Asian have to deal with racism like any other race. Just because try are more successful than whites on average doesn't mean they don't deal with that chit.

Plus people are much more sneaky about it now. It's very rare for someone to straight up call me something, instead they screw around with your name in the mail. You go to a clinic, you're the first one there waiting but somehow you're the last one the doctor sees.

Asian people aren't "people of color." That is synonymous for black and ethnics like indian,arab, and hispanic. Liberals and people on the right have an issue with Asians namely Asian men because they view them as a threat.

It's also always "Asian women" with the sjw stuff. American culture turns them into feminists. I suppose Asian women see it as as a viable strategy to get a supply of white knights to pander to them. That's why they like the identity politics.

1. yes, she's being too sensitive, it's the internet. People will say the things they know will get under your skin. She's supposed to know this.

2. I'd take any role in a star wars movie for free. I also will be prepared for the consequences.

3. The ****storm that is Disney's SW is all on Kathleen Kennedy and Ruin Johnson and they were responsible for making her character complete chit. She got more hate than she deserved (the actress)

Couldn’t read past the first page because... can’t stop cringing at the lack of logic from people saying she wasn’t harassed by racists while in the same post “go back to China”.

Her character and how bad the character sucked is not her fault. I also believe that she was legitimately harassed by racists (which is not the same to say that all those who harassed her were racist).

A little too thin skinned to be a celebrity perhaps, but of course she’s going to write an article about. Crazy Rich Asians is bringing all kinds of attention to what it’s like growing up Asian American right now, smart celebrities don’t pass up on the opportunity to capitalize on their brand.

look. i am thinking that the rose actress struggled to play this stupid bich that contradicts herself and makes stupid decision. i would struggle with that too. but with anakin, who had an easier role to play because we have already seen the good guy gone rogue, and he played it in a way i had zero self insertion with. i still think starwars 6 and 7 are the worse of the series, basically not half as good as the prequels, but its not bc of an actress but bc of the plot

Human psychology doesn't work like that.

Asking someone to stop having a belief, doesn't mean they are going to do it.

I'll repeat from a previous post, IMO and IME it's far more subtle than you are attempting to portray.

Like many people have said; Human minds are habitually problem solving and pattern recognizing.

If throughout your life you've received numerous negative comments about your race, and about your race/ethnicity based features, your mind is going to recognize a pattern (your race/ethnicty), and may conclude (subconsciously) that the problem is your race/ethncity, and the solution is trying to be not your race/ethnicity - by attempting to change your hair, eye colour, interests, speech patterns, etc, to be 'more white'.

Do you get that?

I'm not asking if you think it's 'stupid' or not, I'm asking if you can see things from their perspective.

Discussing racism IMO is not necessarily 'feeding the problem', it's discussing the problem.

I have heard the 'just ignore it' arguments, and IMO it has it's time and place, but sometimes it doesn't and it's good not to let yourself be a doormat and stand up for yourself.

This probably won't be the last time this happens to someone. Hopefully it will make some of those trolls think twice about the impact their behaviour has on people (especially the younger ones), as people have discussions about the things she talks about.

It's taboo now to openly use racial slurs in public (even outright racists are scared to use racial slurs in public, due to physical, social and financial risks), largely because of constant criticism from victims and the media IMO. However, there was a time when noone care if people used racial slurs in public.

I don't think it's reasonable for you to think she should quit, the second fame gets tough. A lot of celebs struggle with fame in various ways (drug culture in hollywood, narcissism, endless surgeries, etc).

Imagine walking away from doing a job you love, just because of trolls. Not a quick and easy decision to make.

Eh, I wouldn't doubt that this isn't her agent masterminding a brilliant event.

I saw her as one of many "talent-less, useless, uninteresting" characters in that movie - not as a "person of color (Asian wut?)". I'm sure her agent realizes that at least 1/2 of Star Wars fans hated the movie and won't be giving any more money to Disney - and major changes might be coming up. So her being one of the most ancillary, useless characters would be first to go. Now when Disney thinks about getting rid of her, they will have to deal with the Far Left Loonies pretending like she is some kind of minority hero/martyr.
