My last job was a $20/hour warehouse job last year that sucked for a myriad of reasons. Unions aren't going to hire a 40 something homeless guy with a checkered employment history. And when I say checkered, I mean lots of temp jobs that never went permanent. I have stayed here I guess because I haven't found a good enough reason to leave. But, there is nothing keeping me here. I definitely do not have any friends here. Just a lot of fake people. And I'm not sure what 'getting ahead' even means anymore. I didn't start this thread asking for help. And I'm not some bum begging people to contribute to a GoFraudMe. I've never panhandled. If I need money, I work. Pretty simple.

Nothing really. No interest in turning my life into a book. Too self-serving and I have no desire to relive any of it by writing about it. Most of the writing I was doing was creative writing and short stories but I have no interest in being published.

Isn't there anything between homelessness and the rat race? Something very basic like coming home to a climate controlled house, with running water/electricity, being able to make a nice meal and catch a game on tv? Being able to bring a girl home.

There are $100 - $200 apartments in Georgia (the country not the state), Mexico and Philippines. And if you have a degree then you try to make money online teaching English at $10-$20 a hour.
