That image has been around for 100 years when we knew less about our ancestors and it is incorrect. Our phylogentic tree is more like this;

we didn't come from "monkeys" Monkeys are small have tails and are not as intelligent as apes, but we didn't come from apes either. We share a common ancestor with apes, but there is no direct relationship with modern bonobo's and chimpanzees and humans.

This is however a theory and not a fact. You can look at the types of species that existed in the past and put them together in a way that might make it seems like yea we evolved like this, from this one species, but you can't prove that it is for sure.

And another thing is is that not a single one of the other species had a mind like we do. They were there, I ain't denying that, but there are no sophisticated civilizations or languages other than those of the homo sapiens, and I believe it is God who instilled us with the mind we have.

Deist checking in. Thats how I see it.

I believe that there is some entity out there that may have sparked the events for life, but it either doesn't give a chit about us or it doesn't even know we exist and it sure as hell hasn't set silly insignificant guidelines for us to follow (don't masturbate dont eat shellfish etc) that result to being sent to a realm of eternal torture for not listing to it.

There is evil and suffering in the world.

So either a God can't do anything about that (he has to play by the same rules as us therefore not worthy of being worshiped) or won't do anything about it (he's evil/not moral, thus still unworthy of worship).

Experience is a good teacher, not a kind one.

The scientific theory of evolution has been proven to be true many, and I meanMANYtimes. Denial from the religious is hilarious, and I meanHILARIOUSto watch, though.

It's incredibly selfish to think that everything in this universe was created to suit us. The "first humans" you speak of were themselves evolved over millions of years from lesser life forms in an attempt to survive the environment.

These never end well. You either believe in one or the other. Neither one can be proven the way humans today want things proven to them (I need to SEE the result for me to believe one or the other for instance).

Think of this though, when the bible was written, it was done in a time when a vast majority of the population was illiterate and had minimal means of communication to far places, and yet the word was able to be spread. Not to say it makes it more or less true, its just an interesting perspective on it. Where the story of Jesus took place was also a small area with a low population.

Do you believe that the creator is a "higher power" with higher intelligence in this dimension (e.g. aliens) or an entity detached from this dimension?

huh? The Big Bang doesn't require too much "faith" lol. There is solid evidence to suggest that the universe came from a singular point and at that singular point there was a tremendous amount of energy.

Look up the dopler effect and the cosmic microwave background. Inb4 those require faith too lmao...

Ironically we evolved to not believe in evolution due to our ego.

How low does your IQ have to be to discount all the evidence that you just admitted exists, while basing your beliefs in aBOOKthat has no shred of evidence proving anything in it ever happened.

You can't use that to to say God doesn't exist.

God doesn't torture people, God doesn't make one man horde up all of the wealth and leave billions in poverty.

That is man. That's why I say if Islam was followed as it is written, not a single person would go hungry and there would be no injustice.

This life is a test, to see what man will do with what he is given. For the well off to be grateful and help the poor and the poor to have patience and have their faith in God.

For if there was no evil and suffering we would already be in Heaven.

no offense to the op, but I had a post lined up for his reply, but I decided not to post it. It wouldn't change his mind much because it would get too "sciency" and his eyes would gloss over while reading it. When these topics branch off into the sciences there is a base level of understanding that needs to be understood from both sides or else we'll be stuck spinning our wheels for nothing.

The evidence I just said exists is just evidence of other forms of homos, they existed, but that doesn't mean God didn't finally then put us man on this earth with the mind we have after that.

The book I believe in doesn't contradict what evolution says. And there are PLENTY OF SCIENTIFIC MIRACLES AND EVIDENCE IN THE QURAN.

Why don't you post that post. I would read it and let you know my thoughts.

I'm not an idiot here. I'm majoring in biology and have 3.9 GPA, so I have a damn good understanding of the sciences.

This whole phucking page is just taking the scientificTHEORIESthat you've so adamantly stood against and attributing them to vague passages in the Quran. If the writers of your holy book knew all these theories then why didn't they explain them thoroughly and save humanity thousands of years of progress?

By believing this horeschit you're discounting the achievements of all the brilliant minds that have contributed to the knowledge and technology that mankind has today.

I'm just saying that for all of those scientific theories, which I never said I don't agree with - just said they are theories, they don't contradict the Quran, and actually agree with the Quran that was revealed 1400 years ago and was impossible for an illiterate Shepard man to have come up with all that stuff back then

If God isn't as least as moral as me (or apparently you) he wouldn't ALLOW this kind of suffering. If he doesn't have the power to intervene then he is no God and is not worthy of worship. If he chooses not to then he is evil and still shouldn't be worshiped.

If he chooses to intervene then we have no free will and live as we know it is pointless, we'd all already be in heaven.

Then he has no power, hence no God or worthy of being worshiped/acknowledged since we have to deal with it all ourselves.

Lol no, he has the power to do as he wills, if he wanted to intervene he would, but he doesn't because he put us on this earth to test us with our free will.

You can't use that argument to say God has no power.
