Yup understood, just trying to give some perspective here. Rich is all relative, and there are a ton of variables.

A 28 year making $2M/year may be perceived as more "Rich" than a 63 year old with net assets in the $30-40M range.

Just depends on how you look at things.

I want to be rich, but I've come to terms with not being rich. If you're financially mediocre, just lol if you don't start working towards family wealth.

Instead they own several stores in expensive areas, have media attention( free advertisement) anywhere they go, have their own show, etc. if anyone in that family who would be considered a rotter/loser would be Rob.

Obviously you could work in private clinics combined with hospital duties and take home 700k (that's what most radiologists here do). You still work hard, get called in the middle of the night, busy calls ect. But when you're a doctor you are used to working hard.
Then you have the other category of radiologists who work 80 hours/week and bill 1 mil + per year (I've known a few, one just bought himself a brand new Lamborghini, miring hard he's my inspiration)

Actually Bill Gates didn't have to work because he came from a very well connected family. He spent one year at Harvard playing cards. Dropped out. Bought DOS. Rebranded it as MS-DOS. Got a very lucrative contract with I B M thanks to his mother who was very close friends with the top management at I B M. Set.

Much rather make my millions from income producing assets compared being a w-2 millionaire. Most of that million is gone through taxes( literally at least half). If they were smart they'd be investing that money to help shelter it from the government. You would have absolutely no life working 80 hours a week.

I'll give you a personal example:

Government employee-59k base salary with 20-30k additional from overtime
Triplex property producing 900 dollars per month after taxes, mortgage, etc.(2170 after paid off)
Taxes( and extra income) earned every year from investment property is then used to pay off mortgage and then another cash producing property is bought
Effect snowballs
Profit

In my scenario, my wife also works for the government so multiply my w2 wage by 2. With OT it would take us 7 years to make a million dollars without all the other stuff. It's really not that hard with a decent job.

Just LOL.
Well the first 3 years he worked 80 hours per week (he had 150k in debts, which he took care of), he also built this huge house, bought and invested in other things here and there, basically secured his future.

A radiologist don't have to work 80 hours, he could work a normal 40 hours week and take home 500k (that's what he actually does). If he ever needs money he just takes more shifts in private clinics.

Now he's 39 (graduated at 31), works 40 hours a week, has money well invested in the sense that he could easily live off with his investments. He still works because he has this passion for medicine, which is remarkable. Also he just bought a brand new Lamborghini so he's taking more shifts to cover for that expense.

Edit: bottom line is he made it. He had the will and dedication to work super hard, I'm not even counting the residency where he worked close to 90 hours per WEEK for 65k / year.

He could retire today at 39 and still have 100k per year in passive income (houses and smart investments)

I didn't say that although I do believe if you had a chart comparing two people who started working at 18 and one worked all their life as an employee and one invested , was financially intelligent, and own his own business, you'd see that the older they got, the less the wealthier/richer person works compared to the typical wage earner( or middle class person).

There's a world of difference in working 80 hours week for 100k/year and working 80 hours/week for 1 mill.

You sacrifice 2-3 years of your life to be set for the rest of your life, who wouldn't do that? Of course no one has that option, that's why people always bring out the "no life 80 hours" argument. Unless your job allows you to make 1 mil for a 80 hours work week you probably wouldn't understand the magnitude of what this means

The neo-capitalist myth. That anyone can be a millionaire if they try hard enough, and if they aren't it's due to a lack of work ethic.

There will be a few kids who become millionaires out of the flavelas in Brazil, the majority won't. No matter their work ethic and persistance. Some kids flat out do not get the education or social environment that is conducive to developing their intelligence, or the qualification they need.
Hell my father had to start over in life at the age of close to 40 (LOST literally everything due to war in home country) and still made it back to 7 figures without ever making more than $50k/year.

We're talking about radiologists.
I could literally post government statistics showing the average salary for a radiologist being 700k and many of them billing 1 mil +.
