For instance, its wrong to shoe and ride a horse, but yet its okay to dress your dog in clothes, shave them, or die their hair?

Maybe we should stray into how many people spend more on their dogs/cats than they do to combat human suffering? That's right ... it just isn't convenient to go in that direction is it?
lmao @ comparing shoeing and riding a horse to putting clothes on a doge (which can be helpful in certain conditions IMO). i think i understand where you're coming from OP, but your current examples are ****.

you're also acting as though the people who are against shoeing and riding a horse are the same ones who are shaving and dyeing their doge

"Experts believe there areoccasionswhere dog clothing isacceptable, such as with small dogs and short-haired varieties, and during cold weather. "

Occasion - a particular time, especially as marked by certain circumstances or occurrences.
Acceptable - capable or worthy of being accepted
Accepted -generallyapproved; usually regarded as normal, right

In case you still don't get it...

It isgenerallynotacceptableto clothe your dog except onoccasion.

Good job though on trying to stray as far from the actual point as possible. But the point is, shoeing a horse isn't bad in general.

It is 100% natural to slaughter an animal. its the way of life and natures cycle. Animals kill other animals (often in horrific ways) for food. Didnt we learn about the food chain in 1st grade?

TBH i dont care if animals are getting slaughtered, its natural. Whenever we get to the point where lab grown meat from stem cells tastes identical, has the same nutrient profile and is just as cheap as animal meat, THEN we can start relaxing on sluaghtering animals. otherwise you arent feeding 7 billion people

But seriously. Meat can be produced ethically and in ways that's positive for the environment. Whether you say it's "unrealistic" or not to feed a world population, either is veganism but we already know that.

Here we go with this nonsense again

Nobody says that slauthering animal/killing them for food is wrong or against nature

But just tell me where in the wild animals keep their prey in cages where they barely fit for years, in horrible conditions, only to kill them once they no longer need them

Smh...people think animals live their happy life and then they just get killed? Wake up people, wake up...

This. What I find thoroughly puzzling is that these anti-vegans cant seem to make an ethical distinction between hunting and killing a wild animal for food (like what our ancestors did) and the animal agriculture industry in modern society, where masses of domesticated animals are kept in horribly confined, unhygienic and unsanitary conditions (until they meet their torturous deaths) and get treated as mere objects used to generate profit, rather than living, breathing, feeling creatures.

It doesn't matter. Vegans arent pro hunting or pro ethical farming. They are against ALL killing of animals for food or goods. Its an absolute scenario.

No. Obviously there are super sensitive vegan that despise the killing of animals no matter what the circumstances, but the vast majority (such as myself) don't have a single problem with hunting (for food and not for fun, obviously).

The problem now is that you're making statements which are not true, in order to justify your own narrative. I'm a vegan and I'm pro sustainable-hunting. The problem (for me, and for the vast majority of people living in first-world cities) is that hunting in modern society is entirely impractical.

The other point is that hunting animals for food (in modern society) is completely unnecessary for human sustenance, and puts added strain on the health system due to all the chronic diseases that the consumption of animal meat causes in human populations.

What you also don't seem to understand is that ethical farming is not profitable. Animal agriculture is a business, and like any business their main endeavor is to maximize profit. The suffering and death of animals is of no concern to them. Sure, there are some small family-owned and operated farms who keep their animals in better conditions, but such farms cannot provide enough meat to feed the masses.

Do you consume protein powder? If so, that doesn't count. Without supps how will you eat 200g of pure protein a day on a vegan diet? No fish, no eggs, nothing. Most animal-free foods that contain protein are also rich in carbohydrates (lentils, chick-peas, kidney beans, etc)

Consider this - what if you're a vegan on a low carb diet? What do you do then? Once again, protein powder doesn't count. I'm not trying to take a schit on you, I'm just curious how you do it. To me, it doesn't seem possible to not have extremely lean sources of pure protein in there like chicken/turkey breasts, tuna, and egg whites.

Once again, you're saying ethical farming can't provide enough meat and is unrealistic but a vegan world with no meat or animal products whatsoever is. You're delusional.

Meat doesn't cause chronic disease. Sugar and alcohol does and both are vegan.

1. He said he'svegetarian(not vegan), which means he could still get protein from eggs, milk, yoghurt, cheese, and protein-rich non-animal foods.

2. Why does he need 200 grams of protein per day? Where did you pull this arbitrary figure from?

3. Well, seeing as protein powder "doesn't count" in your little fantasy world, he'd just get protein from the sources I listed above -- eggs, milk, yoghurt, cheese, and non-animal sources such as nuts, beans, peas, peanut butter, greens vegetables, quinoa, lentils, tofu, potatoes, etc.

Ethical farming cannot produce enough meat to feed the masses. Ethical farming costs more money and uses more land per individual animal, and therefore cannot feed the masses from a profit standpoint nor a practical one. Also, dairy products such as cheese and milk are not natural foods and adversely impact human health. The current human population can easily be sustained on a vegan diet. I'm afraid it's you who is delusional.

You sound mad. Is everything alright?

Missed the part where he said he was vegetarian. So, egg whites, skim milk, greek yogurt, cottage cheese are still okay. But:

Since you asked, I pulled that figure right out of my stinking ass. Everyone consumes different quantities of macronutrients for different reasons. Let's call it a high protein diet.

I don't consume supplements and many other bodybuilders do not as well. I was asking how one can consume the protein required without supplements on a meatless diet. It's not a 'fantasy world.' If you're vegan, spout bullschit about being able to consume all your protein while getting it all from powder, that's a cop-out. Whole foods only in my 'fantasy world.' How much fuking cottage cheese, egg whites, and skim milk would I have to consume in order to meet my protein requirements if I was vegetarian? Doesn't seem like a sustainable diet to me. Just saying.

Thanks for the input, king rotter.

I dont know because I'm not vegetarian. Though I would suggest that instead of restricting yourself to those 3 particular food items to meet your protein requirements, you could also include beans, nuts, peas, peanut butter, seeds, quinoa, tofu, green vegetables, tempeh, potatoes, oatmeal with milk (almond/soy/rice/hemp).

You don't need that high amount of protein anyways; there are pro bodybuilders that are vegan, so if they can make it and COMPETE against meat eaters bodybuilders following a vegan diet, i dont see why someone that doesnt even compete would "miss out" on gains being a vegan. Also there are plenty of high protein food that are vegan, plenty of fatty vegan food and plenty of vegan food high in carbohydrate. The reason you guys continue to eat meat is because you like it and don't give a chit about the enviroment and animals, so be honest and tell the truth instead of hiding in excuses like that ( i'm not hating, if you want to eat meat just do it; but i'm just fed up with all this BS excuses)

I love animals but still consume them. Wrap your mind around that one. Not everyone feels the need to act as self-righteous as you.

False.

I'm still considered half a vegan I don't drink milk eat cheese, or red meat, as well as could go 1-2 months just on salads, vegetables, and fruits.I do stop though after awhile and eat seafood , rarely chicken. You may consider me an omnivore but since I can go 1-2 months as a vegan it isn't the case so being judgemental on my half vegan lifestyle is bigotry. I will be a full vegan someday as well as ,I try not to eat living animals but certain seafood has lots of omegas and benefits for your heart .Skinless chicken breast has very good protein. Everyone knows the benefits of eating more fruits and vegetables, it reduces more heart problems and heart attacks, protects the heart ,decreases strokes it even could prevent most cancers. So that's why I'm mostly vegan but after sometime choose to eat seafood, chicken because eating both has benefits ,and I believe both lifestyle eating habits have benefits.Like I said I will , hope to become a full vegan someday because of the whole animal killing that doesn't seem so ethical.

Its actually pretty accurate. You physically cannot grow vegetables in any practical matter wherever you want. The soil and environment decide what goes there, no your morals. Sure, in some parts of the world vegetable growth can be optimized but in others, cattle and animals are best to grow as food. Also, you're forgetting the ocean is our biggest source of food, not land. In your bull**** vegan world you'd literally eliminate our largest food source as a viable option. Completely impossible to do.
