keto is not sustainable for 5 years without serious health problems. that should tell you that it causes health decline no matter how subtle and how short a period of time, it still hurts the body for the result of fat loss.

low carb DIET.

why on earth would you want to DIET for 5 years unless you have 6,000lbs to lose???

low carbbing = losing weight easier and regulates hormones better.
if = losign weight easier and cellular regeneration benefits, etc..'

if + low carb = GOAT.

Can't handle low carb? Do moderate carbs. The end goal is the same: calorie deficit and lower sugar/refined carbs.
Weight Loss: Go carnivore or keto/low carb. Create calorie deficit. Buy packaged healthy meals if needed. Meat is good and heals, stop being lied to.

Considering trying keto because I gained more fat than I'd like after having to put muscle/weight on after getting sick an dropping to around 90lbs a year and a half ago. I don't eat many carbs as it is, sugar makes me gag, and I can't even handle dairy, so no lactose, which would make the switch easier by just adding more fats, but are there any foods that can knock you off ketosis easily? For example, dry spices, cellulose in supplements, peanut butter carbs, or anything else easily overlooked? I'll use walden farms (not much) and those sugar free da vinci/torani syrups which have xanthan gum in them, but if I avoided other carb sources would that be fine? Last question, would the switch to fats put ribs back on the table? The last time I had ribs (no bbq sauce/sugar) was 8 1/2 years ago...

this. It may depend from person to person but I love carbs way too much
I prefer HIIT + IF + cutting carbs from 1 week to another

might be slower but muscle loss is minimized and it feels better too

I've tried low carb so many times, and it definitely leans me out quickly, but I can never find enough food variety to stick with it longer than a few weeks. Nearly my entire diet consisting of eggs, almonds, avocado, cheese, meat. It's sickening after a while.

absolutely lost it @ the delusional kunt who thinks he goes from 10% bf to 8% in 2 days

more likely you were a bloated michelin man piece of shiet and everyone was too afraid to be honest and hurt your feelings. then when you actually lowered your carbs and sodium the water weight that is your "gains" came off. not even gonna quote you because you make me sick. srs

What works best for me after many years of trying loads of different shiet is PSMF diet.

Brb 800 cals a day, 90+% protein for 2 weeks. Lost 11lbs in that period, realistically probably like 7-8lbs fat and the rest water, but because I was only like 12% bodyfat i got really lean really quick. Your body wont burn muscle because its like wtf is going on. Its only for a short time and protein intake is stupidly high.

Wouldnt recomend this past 3 weeks, unless youre obese.

Keto is easily the best diet I ever followed while cutting. I've done everything before, IIFYM (silly), high carbs (ice cream diet), low fat 80s style diet. They all work but keto got me better results quicker and with less effort. I don't get the blood sugar crashes and intense hunger from other diets, I wake up have coffee and can fast the whole morning quite happily. Itssustainablecompared to other diets, which makes sense since we evolved spending large amounts of time in ketosis.

The problem most people have with it are that they have too many cheat meals or try to squeeze in too many carbs. You need to have ketones in the blood most of the time, if you have half a slice of pizza you will still have ketones in the blood while it digests but if a dude goes to mcdonalds and binges he will feel like **** for a couple of days due to the ketone blood levels dropping and taking time to recover. So instead of regular carb-based cheats what I suggest is upping the calories from fats and doing fat refeeds when necessary.

Also while doing keto people should do intensity training rather than volume since you won't have the glycogen stores to train that long, and if you try then you will only waste protein fuelling it. If you keep workouts short and intense then you won't feel the lack of carbs.

It's basically lean protein sources (chicken, tuna, egg white, whey etc) + fibrous green veggies + 6-10 grams fish oil and nothing else. You have to take a few supplements for electrolytes also. Your protein intake depends on what bodyfat% you are, if you are serious about doing it then search for lyle mcdonald's rapid fat loss ebook and follow exactly what he says and do not try to play around with it, it's a brutal but extremely effective diet and you need to know what you're doing beforehand, don't go off half cocked.
