I have family members in law enforcement and live next door to a sheriff. All of which condemn the ridiculous training and the hiring of pathetic high school drop outs which inevitably lead to police having a bad name for themselves which we see over this past year.

You're like that bratty kid no one liked that, when someone would say he's being annoying or loud or w/e, he comes back with "I know you are but what am I?!"

Even after I tried to amicably end the conversation. You just had to get the last word in. Real mature. I can confidently say that, if I lived in your town, and needed immediate help, I would not call the police first, at the risk of you being the responding officer.

A good dog owner knows that and restrains their dog. It's your job as a dog owner to look after your dog just like you'd look after a child that doesn't know what it's doing and putting itself in danger.

Here's how to put yourself in the same situation:

You have no experience with crocodiles. What would you do if someone's pet crocodile walked out of the house and started snarling (barking) at you?

I bet 100% you'd shoot it. How is that any different than this situation?

Then a legion of crocodile owners are gonna come here and demonize you because the crocodile was just trying to play. It was wagging its tail!
There were things that should have been done differently on both sides. Ultimately the cop if the one with the badge and the gun and should be able to control that situation without discharging his firearm. Considering cops come into contact with dogs all the time I would hope dealing with them would be part of the training.

lmfao strong denial you have no argument other then, police should be trained to psychoanalysis a dogs behavior and aggression levels in the 2.2 second window before a dog charges. just pathetic. You have been thoroughly whipped by the legal system itt. Its pretty sad you dont understand why this shooting was legally justified

also lulz at the pathetic attempts to neg me

not sure if srs..the only reason other people aren't responding tearing you apart still is because they've gotten tired of your senseless drivel. I already conceded that you are likely correct that he operated within the confines of the law, and that we are simply debating whether it is justified. yet you somehow struggle to comprehend such an elementary distinction.

No wonder you can't determine aggressive vs non-aggressive just by looking at a dog. You'd probably drive around in a medical supply van, take a blood sample of the dog, drive to the nearest vet, have them analyze the blood for epinephrine, find out there was none, then drive back and shoot the dog just for the hassle he made you go to.

and good lord, I hope i negged you and didn't accidentally rep. I wasn't going to, until you proved to be as immature as a millenial.

and yet, somehow, you are one of a very few group of individuals who believe the dog was aggressive

you ever hear the saying "you meet an assh*le in the morning, you ran into an assh*le. you run into assh*les all day, you're the assh*le"?

went back and watched it just for you

the dog stood at the door for about 3-4 seconds before he started to go past the first officer. In those 3-4 seconds, he came to a full stop and turned his head inside the door.

IDK about you, but most aggressively charging dogs do not stop halfway

wonder what you're gonna do to your daughter's bf one day when he breaks her heart. probably shoot him and claim he was aggresively charging.

Learning behaviors of dogs is probably something that should be taught at least on a basic level especially in a country like the US where everyone has dogs, and hell, if you're a LEO in Florida, maybe itwouldbe good to know the behavioral queues of alligators, since it is something you'll inevitably have to deal with while on the job.

lmfao there is literally no way you are this dumb, the entire encounter of the dog from start to finish is literally 3 to 4 seconds, either someone doesnt know how to count or you are just a troll

the dog encounter starts at 37 sec and ends at 42, so i dont know what you are smoking but its making you delusional

Anyone could pretty accurately do that. But what if you're wrong? Then you lose fingers and stuff. Any action you take has to account for the fact that you could be wrong.

not sure if srs

the dog is heard at 48 secs, shows up at 50, doesn't run at the second cop until 55 seconds.

if a dog was 5 feet away from you, it wouldn't take the dog 3-4 seconds to charge.

US police training/selection is absolute sht tier compared to other first world nations. A complete embarrassment, look up how much training you get as a cop in the US vs. countries like England or Sweden.

I work in a hospital ER in a city that has over 500,000 people. I have never seen a mid 20's-late 30 year old male come in with a dog bite that severed their femoral artery....an artery that is deep in the leg behind the muscle. In the US, only a bear or mountain lion or massive dog can pull off such a feat in one bite. I've seen it in toddlers, because their little limbs can be as small as the circumference of a soda can, but those cops do not fit that demographic.
