Just go to a bar and take turns getting rounds, she will often make you buy one more (for whatever reason) but it's normal to do that.

if im looking to smash, will always pay.
if I have smashed and I like her, will pay.
If im not looking to smash, wont pay.
unless youre a lower rate tax payer, I dont see why anyone would ever suggest splitting a bill. Its cringey as fuk.

In the states, these jokes for women mostly just bert stare it or take a sip of whatever they're drinking to wait for you to pull out your wallet. I'm all for a man paying for dinner, but i don't waste it on american chicks. Too much "time to go on this date to get this free meal" culture.

If it's a long time friend there are situations where you split and some where you don't. Example, let's say I invite some friend to the race track, I'm totally into cars and he's only slightly into it but he comes out and spends the day with me. I'll pick up the track fee and lunch. But let's say we go fishing, since we both love to do it I'll pick up the eighteen pack and snacks for the boat and he will grab lunch. You sort of split but without the awkward let's do a calculation I. Our head...oh you had two cokes and I just had water so you owe $12 while I just owe $8. I have no time for that schiesty behavior.
But I also keep my circle of friends tight. 5-6 that I call friends. A few dozen acquiantences.

I usually buy drinks on the first date, sometimes food if we eat. If she insists on paying for part or all, I just let her know that I appreciate it and I definitely take her more seriously if she does.

Firstly, you don't take girls out for expensive dates when first meeting. Drink should cost you like $15-30 lol. Secondly, half the time they offer to pay or will pay on the next date. Thirdly, if you aren't a giant *******, girls won't use you for free meals like miscers have claimed.

Ask if she's a feminist/believes in gender equality
If the answer is yes then naturally she should always at least offer for the bill to be split. If not then well she's obviously a hypocrite
I actually don't mind paying the tab though and I can't remember being in a situation where the other person didn't offer to split.

She may have you as "free food" but you'd have her marked as "20 grade A pussy" or whatever, if you want to think of it that way.
I dont even know, I havent dated anyone new in 6 years and the last 2 girls I was dating, their dads were mega rich, so would just give them money - so would always offer to pay their share.

That being said, I do take it to be a good thing if they at least reach for the bill to take a look at how we are going to split it, if they dont even glance at it I'll still be paying but I would have second thoughts about asking them out again.

As for the dating thing, I think it speaks a lot about a person's character, male or female, if they don't at least offer to pay their half. I usually cover it anyway, but I'll remember who offered and who didn't offer. If you're on a date with a girl and she doesn't even attempt to pay for anything, red flags are flinging up left, right, and center in my head. I get that societal norms dictate the man is supposed to pay, but that little gesture of reaching for the purse means a lot to me, even if I know I'm going to be paying.

If I feel chemistry with the girl and there'll obviously be a 2nd date then I usually say something like "I'll get this one, you can get the next one". If I have no interest in her then it's 50/50.
