Do you hear any of this? Don't you think the above parent believe the same thing? What do you think he will say to his child (that will carry those scares for the rest of his life) when he grows up? What would you say to your child?

And you child's safety be damned as long as you make your point? Parents are suppose to protect their kids from harm. Not put them in harms way.

I don't have children. And I also make damn sure my dog isn't in the position to hurt anyone, as a responsible owner. Some of you anti-pit folks are pretty steamed, maybe try fisting yourself and calming down. You're so angry you're disagreeing with the one pit owner in the thread trying to bridge the two sides with logic.

My dog did absolutely nothing wrong but animal control is insisting that he be put down.

I've had him for a few years and we've become very attached. This is hard to write. His name is Rocky.

Today, I had him on a leash during a walk. I took a turn down a street behind an apartment complex, an area I've never walked him before.

I saw a dumpster in view and Rocky immediately noticed it. As we got closer I could smell the unmistakable stench of dirty diapers. At this point Rocky's mouth was drooling. I tried to keep him near me but he bit my hand (it's generally a sign of affection). I lost control and he found his way into the stash of dirty diapers and began ripping them open one by one and gorging himself on the infant feces.

I tried to get him under control, but when I approached he started vomiting all the diarrhea vomit and rolling around in it (it's his favorite scent). A guy approached and said "wtf" in a very threatening tone, and scared Rocky. Rocky defended himself by ripping open the guy's juggular and then ****ting in the open juggular, and he said "ROO ROO", really loud (in dog language, it means I love you, pet me, I am friend).

Rocky then began crapping everywhere because he was scared and then he started smelling his poo and eating it.

Animal control arrived and tranquilized him. He woke up and killed one of the animal control guys and then started eating all of the **** he could find and smelling it because he found it so delectable.

They tranquilized him again and he is scheduled to be put down tomorrow. This is so unfair

their red rockets are 2nd to none
pitbulls are known to be THE most hung dogs in the US, possibly one of the biggest in the world. Their red rockets have been described as "like an evian bottle", with gargantual thickness that would rival shane diesel and shorty mac. im estimating their size to be at least 8.5" bone pressed, with OVER 7" of girth. They would have absolutely destroyed my manpussy.
We would have spent hours and hours on foreplay, getting myself wet enough just so I can take it. i can just imagine myself begging for it, with scruffy barely able to force it past the knob, and me moaning and squirming, demanding him to force it in deeper. I would have orgasm'd within seconds of taking the entire length, being filled and stretched right up to my colon.. the orgasm would have been powerful, with my boootyhole muscles clamping down on his throbbing monstrosity, my whole body quivering in euphoria..

It's pretty degenerate to own an animal as if it's your property. Don't you have any friends and do you feel that lonely that you feel the need to enslave an animal for your own pleasure and satisfaction? Doesn't really matter what brand of dog it is.

Pitbull owners are the worst. What is the point of having one? I mean why choose the one dog that kills people over any other breed? To look intimidating?

That's terrible. How can they react like that? Your dog wouldn't hurt a fly. Only vulnerable human beings. This is just awful.

Why is a small child being left home alone at all?

We adopted a pit two years ago. We never planned to. We went to look at two others in need of adoption. They were puppies. While there, the woman running the shelter was letting dogs out one by one to exercise and play. She left out the pit, and he came running up to us, and started rolling around on the ground, wanting his belly rubbed. That was a pretty good sign. Submission to a stranger. We knew the other two would easily be adopted, but poor Barnabas (his original name was Thor, which we ditched immediately) was already there for months and everyone was afraid to take him.

We adopted him and immediately took him to the vet and their trainer/behavioral specialist who said he looked and acted really, really well and there was no signs that indicates he was mistreated. He plays with the kids and loves people. He does not, however, like ANY dog that is on or around our property. From what the behavioral specialist told us, that is far more common than pits that are aggressive to people. In fact, it's not common for pits to be aggressive to people outside of the pits that are abused or trained to be fighters.

Regardless, some people will troll and use fear mongering just to make a point.

With the "logic" of banning animals capable of harming humans, you would also be inclined to ban people from living in a climate where the temp can get below 32 degrees f because 15 people a year are killed by icicles, and only 10 a year by dogs. While we are at it we're going to need to do away with anything poisonous, flamable, higher than 18", deeper than 1/4", and harder than nerf.

......And even after all of this a negligent parent will still find a way to blame something for their own irresponsibility.
or
Maybe we can hold people accountable for their own actions, or in-actions.
Any "Trained/vicious" dog should be locked up in a cage/compound/area 24x7 if there is ANY risk of ANYONE getting hurt by it. Saying that, what sort of life is that for the dog?

Anyone who's dog is vicious and attacks someone, should have the dog destroyed and they should do time and pay HUGE costs to the victim.

No different than leaving a gun out for kids to play with IMO. If you own something that is a "Weapon" it needs to be locked up, or pay the price when it attacks.

Just LOL if you believe Hulk is an American Bully. That dog is a mutt (mastiff mix) being peddled as a bully. Also for an American Bully owner you are not helping yourself or the breed by telling people that they are pit bulls, because they are not.

This thread just caused me to join the "exterminate pitbulls" side. I even blamed the owner when 3 of them attacked my dog, since the owner had them off leash. But had it have been my mom walking them, my little aussie would have been torn to shreds, luckily I came in kicking hard and lifted her over my head, still they went for her and i got a bit a few times. Posted on here and got negged to oblivion by pitbull lovers blaming me for having my dog off leash. Bear in mind she's not aggressive and it was not a leash required zone.

Anyways. I say just mandatory sterilization and putting down pits that are in shelters. Let the ones alive live out their lives. But no more pits. People can get other dogs. And i've been bit in the face and have a large scar due to a LAB. But it didnt try to kill me, it just didnt want me taking its bone. I was 8.

I won't neg you but I will try to educate you. First, all public zones are leash required zones. Always do this and always assume this whether its marked or not. You are still responsible (and liable) for your dog, but at least you'll show some semblance of responsibility should you find yourself in court.

Second, its your dog (not you) the pit is after. Beware your dog when pits are around. They will come after them.

From what the behavioral specialist told us, that is far more common than pits that are aggressive to people. In fact, it's not common for pits to be aggressive to people outside of the pits that are abused or trained to be fighters.
Exactly. Most reported "pit violence" cases are mixes, anyway. English Bulldogs, Presa Canarios, Cane Corso, Boxers, etc. etc. In fact, pitbulls were used as "babysitters" at one point. You can google "pitbull babysitter" and see all kinds of period photos of small children standing next to pits.

My point is, people should be careful with ANY powerful dog, because while the breeds may be domesticated compared to a wolf, that's still a large, dangerous animal that could snap and become a killer -should the context bring out that inner beast. I imagine your pit is extremely protective of your kid. They're loyal as fuk.

There's too much extremism on either side. One side wants to gas the pitbulls like a Canine Hitler. The other side says they aren't capable of ripping apart a toddler. No, they have that capability, as do many other dog breeds. These are basically wild animals that have been trained through ancestral lines to be our docile slaves. There's never 100% certainty that any dog won't snap when instinct kicks in.

Too many inbreds and people getting backyard pups. It is literally a coin toss. You either get those real sweetheart wimpy ones or those manbiters that just cannot be saved with training

Can we get links to studies(from both sides)?

Everyone is dropping stats with no links.

OR saying your stats are wrong because "insert reason", but they haven't read the studies quoted(probably because of no link...).

Spoiler!
I don't give a **** about anecdotal evidence...

just lol @ the stupidity flowing from the ignoramuses ITT

just lol @ the argument that pitbulls are the most dangerous dog when you have multiple breeds that are much larger with a more powerful bite force

just lol @ the lack of pics of the dog in the article, and throughout the thread. Strong "pitbull"

just lol @ the "pitbulls are just naturally more aggressive". That argument falls apart when you follow it up with their history for dogfighting, since they were bred to be aggressive with other animals, not people.

posting a pic of myAmerican Pitbull Terrierjust to rustle all the haters (because pitbull isn't a breed you fkn idiots)

people are dumb because they refuse to pay attention to what they are doing. need more focus and discipline. send them all to camps to learn better.

Life passes most people by while they're making grand plans for it. Throughout my lifetime, I've left pieces of my heart here and there. And now, there's almost not enough to stay alive. But I force a smile, knowing that my ambition far exceeded my talent. There are no more white horses or pretty ladies at my door.
