Or does it just make more sense to buy a damn Shadow from the get go?

I think the pmc and blazer are a little cleaner than the white box but they all run solid.
Sick gun, shows $1299 in my cart though. I'm sure it's discounted since everyone is throwing away their keymods for mlok special ops master race now.

Most competition guys change recoil spring every 6k rounds or so, so you should literally be on like the third or fourth spring by now lol.
Edit: I assume all 17k of that is thru only about 3 or 4 mags too? If so, new mag springs probably wouldn't be a bad idea at this point either.

I've been using 5 mags consistently, CZ75 9mm factory mags. I'll replace their springs then probably use them as strictly training mags, then get Mec Gar mags for competition. Mec Gar mags >>> CZ factory mags. They're like 1/2 the price too.

For a comp gun you want a safety unless you want first pull to be DA. Not ideal for 25+ yard shots even with the smoothest of DA triggers lol.
If you're buying this gun with intentions on shooting any production class - buy a Shadow and be done with it. It's WELL worth the couple extra hundred dollars over the standard SP-01.

CZ safety trigger > decoker trigger. The safety model trigger is significantly better than decocker.
Yeah you'll want to CGW/CZCustom it, not because it's bad without, but because it's much better with. My friend's factory CZ 75 SP01 tactical >>>>> Glock 17 w/ Haley trigger > Factory G17 > else. But with CGW/CZ Custom trigger and internal work it's even better.
I likely overspent on the CZ Custom Shadow that I got. They do a barrel bushing which does objectively make the gun more accurate, but that's at like 50yds... so probably not needed. I'd just swap out the sights, get the trigger lightened and smoothed out, get the competition hammer, a few other internal stuff then call it good there. Idk all the stuff that was done and if it really matters, I just didn't want to think about it and had a 1/4 life crisis and needed to spend some money lol. This is what I got:
https://czcustom.com/new-firearms/cz....html?___SID=U
If I were you and wasn't already invested in the CZ 75 SP01 (holsters), I'd just get a Shadow 2. The factory Shadow 2 is pretty damn sweet as is. Yeah I'd just go with that then don't think about it.
For holsters, these guys have been great for me:

This is my AIWB I got from them:

Then I recently got a OWB from them that mounts to RTI (from Gcode), it's really nice, much better than the Bladetech I was using. I'll take pic of it tomorrow.

Also, pretty sure you get DQ if you holster the gun when it's in single action if you don't put safety on. So decocker would need to decock before holstering. (Rule 10.5.11.2 page 48)

You have no frame of reference other than what you have "read online" like a majority of your posts seemingly. This is what pretty much everybody reports, everywhere, and why basically all schools/courses/etc require factory ammunition. One of the best ways to have a gun malfunction is feed it reloads.
Of course, we all know that reloads in general fail at a disproportionately high rate when compared to factory ammo, but everybody who reloads is experienced andtheirreloads are as good as or better than factory lol

For rifle it can be a process to find a near perfect load when you start looking at barrel harmonics and how far off the lands your gun likes. But once you get it figured out it will shrink your groups by a LOT. For pistol it's pretty simple due to the inherent inability to shoot a pistol as accurately as a rifle so finding a load that shoots well is much easier. I like unique powder for pistol, it meters well. I have switched to Hodgen Tightgroup but it's not a beginner powder because it's very hot and since it takes such a small quantity it would be easy to double charge. I use varget and benchmark for .223 because they are not temperature sensitive so the POI doesn't change as much summer to winter.yeah, LEE is made about 7 miles from where I live, and there is a shop there that sells em. I have been saving all my brass from the stuff I shot over the past year. have the dies for my 300blk, and a book with data and the hodgdon reloading website, along with a 300 blk reloading group. Once I get the tools to clean the brass I have, and pick up some primers I will be set. have probably watched 30 youtube vid's on reloading and will probably watch 30 more before I actually start... Pretty excited about it though, once I figure it out with the 300 blk I will get dies for my 9mm, 30-06, and 300 wsm.
will probably be nervous for first batch
will probably be nervous for first batch
When I reload I just follow a process. Case prep (depends but might include tumbling, annealing, trimming to length, primer pocket clean, debur, etc) , then priming with a hand priming tool. I generally load about 20 or so at a time. First dropping powder, I weigh every 5th load to make sure it's consistent (make a baffle for your powder tube so the weight of the powder doesn't change charge weight by compaction since it's volumetric) then add the bullets checking for OAL about every 10th round.
The main thing is take your time, and don't get in a hurry. Once you get the overall process down it's less enerving but you don't want to get complacent. Use good reloading data and work up your loads. If your careful you won't have any problems. If you aren't careful you can have major problems from having to pull bullets (minor) to catastrophic failure from an undercharge detonation or over charge explosion.
Oh and don't buy Seiler and Beloit primers for pistol. That's the only reliability issue I have ever had. They were on sale and have had multiple FTFs with large pistol primers. CCI primers are generally very good and worth the extra couple dollars per 1000.

Can't find TAP anywhere and the rest of the hollow points around seem to be match ammo, considering the remington tactical or speer LE 55gr soft points but they're probably gunna penetrate walls like a bich.

IIRC Farley hates white box.

I was pretty set on the CZ SP01 already....my question is, is there a reason I need a model with the safety? I like the Tactical because it DOESNT have one. Though I'm aware that this is going to mean spending the extra money to CGW/CZ Custom the thing.
Or does it just make more sense to buy a damn Shadow from the get go?
