I just had a load of 75gr Hornady TAP delivered a couple days ago.

Regardless of the weight, I think the TAP is hands down the best HD round

Sick gun, shows $1299 in my cart though. I'm sure it's discounted since everyone is throwing away their keymods for mlok special ops master race now.
Yeah I just thought of Farley when he said he dgaf about ammo and just buys white box/federal. IIRC Farley hates white box.

Edit: I assume all 17k of that is thru only about 3 or 4 mags too? If so, new mag springs probably wouldn't be a bad idea at this point either.
Thanks man. Yeah I need to get that shiit squared away. Probably just go to CZ Custom in the next few days and pick up that stuff + whatever the doc prescribes.

I've been using 5 mags consistently, CZ75 9mm factory mags. I'll replace their springs then probably use them as strictly training mags, then get Mec Gar mags for competition. Mec Gar mags >>> CZ factory mags. They're like 1/2 the price too.

Because 147gr shoots a little softer than 115gr.
For a comp gun you want a safety unless you want first pull to be DA. Not ideal for 25+ yard shots even with the smoothest of DA triggers lol.
If you're buying this gun with intentions on shooting any production class - buy a Shadow and be done with it. It's WELL worth the couple extra hundred dollars over the standard SP-01.

Idk why they shoot 147gr exactly, but it doesn't matter for major power factor in Production because there's only a minor power factor in Production. They probably go with 147gr and do a low powder charge so they still meet minor but have a light recoil.

CZ safety trigger > decoker trigger. The safety model trigger is significantly better than decocker.

Yeah you'll want to CGW/CZCustom it, not because it's bad without, but because it's much better with. My friend's factory CZ 75 SP01 tactical >>>>> Glock 17 w/ Haley trigger > Factory G17 > else. But with CGW/CZ Custom trigger and internal work it's even better.

I likely overspent on the CZ Custom Shadow that I got. They do a barrel bushing which does objectively make the gun more accurate, but that's at like 50yds... so probably not needed. I'd just swap out the sights, get the trigger lightened and smoothed out, get the competition hammer, a few other internal stuff then call it good there. Idk all the stuff that was done and if it really matters, I just didn't want to think about it and had a 1/4 life crisis and needed to spend some money lol. This is what I got:

https://czcustom.com/new-firearms/cz....html?___SID=U

If I were you and wasn't already invested in the CZ 75 SP01 (holsters), I'd just get a Shadow 2. The factory Shadow 2 is pretty damn sweet as is. Yeah I'd just go with that then don't think about it.

For holsters, these guys have been great for me:

Not sure about 3G or IDPA, but in USPSA Production you have to start hammer down with a DA/SA gun; whether you have safety or decocker. You could have the safety on too, if you want, but not needed.

Also, pretty sure you get DQ if you holster the gun when it's in single action if you don't put safety on. So decocker would need to decock before holstering. (Rule 10.5.11.2 page 48)

https://www.uspsa.org/document_libra...un%20Rules.pdf

8.1.2.3:
“Selective action” – chamber loaded with hammer fully down,
or chamber loaded and hammer cocked with external safety
engaged (see Divisions in Appendix D).
Appendix D4 "Special conditions" (Page 85)
Handguns with external hammers must be fully decocked at the start signal

Yeah she's a real beaut eh. I think I'll try shooting Limited with it in a match jut to be able to sling out more than 10 rounds. 19+1 CZ Shadow so OP, needs nerfed.

That's not defending the emotional baby of a ffl Dual was dealing with. I just want to give everyone insight on why so many shops will be closing in the next year.
Hence why I said there's competition and I'm free to choose whom I want to give my money to.

That's a bummer but that's business with the way things are put into place. I agreee with you though

Lol when a Wiki guru discusses the disadvantages of reloading. Most places want factory ammo due to liability issues not because they don't want to see a malfunction. I gaurentee I can load more consistent and reliable handloads over factory, every single time. Better quality control and keg powder sold for reloads is more consistent than batch for factory ammo. People who have malfunctions (or worse) are either not buying good components, not handling/storing components correctly, not taking their time and applying a consistent methodology or otherwise don't know what they are doing. You have no frame of reference other than what you have "read online" like a majority of your posts seemingly.

Once I get the tools to clean the brass I have, and pick up some primers I will be set. have probably watched 30 youtube vid's on reloading and will probably watch 30 more before I actually start... Pretty excited about it though, once I figure it out with the 300 blk I will get dies for my 9mm, 30-06, and 300 wsm.

will probably be nervous for first batch
I have all RCBS and access to a Dillon. The most important aspect of reloading is taking your time especially at first. Get your dies set up so they are exact, and check your loads for powder weight and OAL. For rifle it can be a process to find a near perfect load when you start looking at barrel harmonics and how far off the lands your gun likes. But once you get it figured out it will shrink your groups by a LOT. For pistol it's pretty simple due to the inherent inability to shoot a pistol as accurately as a rifle so finding a load that shoots well is much easier. I like unique powder for pistol, it meters well. I have switched to Hodgen Tightgroup but it's not a beginner powder because it's very hot and since it takes such a small quantity it would be easy to double charge. I use varget and benchmark for .223 because they are not temperature sensitive so the POI doesn't change as much summer to winter.

When I reload I just follow a process. Case prep (depends but might include tumbling, annealing, trimming to length, primer pocket clean, debur, etc) , then priming with a hand priming tool. I generally load about 20 or so at a time. First dropping powder, I weigh every 5th load to make sure it's consistent (make a baffle for your powder tube so the weight of the powder doesn't change charge weight by compaction since it's volumetric) then add the bullets checking for OAL about every 10th round.

The main thing is take your time, and don't get in a hurry. Once you get the overall process down it's less enerving but you don't want to get complacent. Use good reloading data and work up your loads. If your careful you won't have any problems. If you aren't careful you can have major problems from having to pull bullets (minor) to catastrophic failure from an undercharge detonation or over charge explosion.

Oh and don't buy Seiler and Beloit primers for pistol. That's the only reliability issue I have ever had. They were on sale and have had multiple FTFs with large pistol primers. CCI primers are generally very good and worth the extra couple dollars per 1000.

but muh ballistic gelatin. Srs though I gotta believe a nice defense oriented HP or soft point is better then fmj in 5.56.

Can't find TAP anywhere and the rest of the hollow points around seem to be match ammo, considering the remington tactical or speer LE 55gr soft points but they're probably gunna penetrate walls like a bich.

This is true, but some rounds are constructed in such a way as to be bad for civilian home defense purposes. Anything bonded or M855 comes to mind.

Yeah but what about when Spetsnaz comes to your house to disrespect your family?

It's gone to **** with most of Winchester QC. That used to be all I bought and shot for the range, but Winchester has horrible QC, even I personally have had a bunch of bad rounds or witnessed them first hand from white box FMJ to .22lr to Ranger defense loads (3 of those that should have never passed QC, in 3 different loads lol)

I was pretty set on the CZ SP01 already....my question is, is there a reason I need a model with the safety? I like the Tactical because it DOESNT have one. Though I'm aware that this is going to mean spending the extra money to CGW/CZ Custom the thing.

Or does it just make more sense to buy a damn Shadow from the get go?
Buy a Shadow if you want a DA/SA metal gun. I bought a Tanfoglio Stock II and had the trigger done by the dude that does Stoeger's and I found out that I still like a good Glock 34 better. But maybe I'm just a retarded peasant.
