~13 years ago his university made a mistake and had his car towed which he 'stole' back I'm guessing without going through the towing service the correct way and paying them and having them release it but since it was his car and it apparently wasn't supposed to be towed it was just an arrest and no conviction because charges were dropped

Or something

I tend to not be much of a brand loyalist and quite honestly given everything I've seen with reliability tests through adverse conditions, it doesn't surprise me that the VP9 isn't on an approved list. Great gun when it isn't encountering dirty conditions, but appears to be on the side of lower reliability when under extreme circumstances. On top of that, aftermarket is limited compared to the more popular brands, you are definitely going to be paying to play with it.

We've got some TVs in our cafeteria downstairs and typically at least one of them has the syfy channel on. It seems that once a week one of the Tremors movies is playing at some point during the day. Love watching them blow those worms up. One of the movies is in Africa or some chit. The murder the worms with some lightning move at the end. Pretty lolsy.

FN 509:

length:7.4"
height:5.56"
width:1.35"
masterrace 17+1 capacity

G19:

length:7.28"
height:4.99"
width:1.18"
poverty 15+1 capacity

Only place the FN is really losing out is in height and it's only half an inch. G19 crew on suicide watch, confirmed.

That and the width probably make a bigger difference than most think.

Farles is right

That said, this is a duty weapon....not a carry gun. I don't think FN had the CC market as their target here at all

Doubt it. Earning mil and LE contracts goes far beyond just making a reliable gun and right size gun for the job. And I don't see FN even coming close to the likes of Glock and S&W with prices that can be competitive with them as far as contracts in the thousands of guns goes. Glock will lose money on the initial contract because they know they will make it back plus some in mag and parts sales over the years.

It's not a dealbreaker for the CC'er who is able to conceal a G19 in the first place especially when you get 2 more rounds in return. For those of us in warm climates wearing light t-shirts 24/7 both are big under a t-shirt and sub-compacts are the realistic carry.

Do you currently concealed carry G17 or VP9?

Why do you want to waste your money on that **** capacity VP9SK when you can just EDC a VP9?

Took the 3 Shields to the range yesterday with a mix of FMJ and +P JHPs to compare them back to back. The JHPs were noticeably stouter than the FMJs but still very manageable. After a couple mags they all felt pretty much the same, except the .45 Remington Golden Saber 185g +P, which was quite a handful. Still, all groups were about the same with similar shot times. No failures yet in well over 500 rounds among them. They're all good to go for carry.

Cause I shoot the VP9 significantly better then glocks but it's too big to carry under a t-shirt, the SK should be doable. Sure I'd prefer a couple more rounds capacity but I'd miss my target at least a few more times with a G26 then the SK under duress anyway (assuming the SK shoots similarly to the full size).

Never said I would conceal the 509 daily (in cold weather under layers it'd be fine), just that I want it. I'm in the "anything other then sub-compact/single stack is too big for t-shirt" crew, G19 is too big for t-shirt conceal carry imo, I can do it but I'm not comfortable with it. Even the Vp9SK is looking to be very borderline for me but I shoot the full size one so well that I'm willing to concede a bit on size in return for confidence and ability in putting rounds exactly where I want them.
