What are the restrictions for non-residents bringing 30 round mags into Colorado on a plane. Can't really seem to find a straight answer.

I'm flying into Denver on Thursday and want to bring some Pmags with me.

I seriously considered getting a Vortex Razor gen 2 but it's just too much money. I'd rather start with something that is still great quality for less than half the cost and upgrade down the road if I really want to.

I played with a razor when I went to vortex looking to grab a scope for my 300 blk. Such quality, such money. Dammit, even promotive/expertcity is out of stock on vortex. This sucks, I have till fall before the hunt, but if I can't get long range practice before hand then it is pointless.

That's because the law was written by idiots and it's not 100% clear within the law. The best most people can reason is that you can bring them in state as long as you owned them before the ban went into effect in July 2013 (i.e. don't bring 30 round mags with a date stamp after July 2013). And even at that, for unstamped mags, in order to prosecute, the DA would have to prove you didn't own them before the law went into effect. But there is also a section of the law that would seem to exempt out of state transferees.

In the end, practically speaking, the vast majority of LEO's out here don't give a crap and won't enforce it unless it's a add-on charge. As far as I know most people bring them and nobody has been hassled about them.

That's assuming you'd even get the Vortex before the hunt. Apparently this is an issue anytime Vortex releases a new gen or new optic. They get backordered for months, if not over a year. It's retarded.

I was also thinking of getting a Razor gen 1 for a little more than the Viper or Burris XTR, but it's still a large jump in price and if I was going to do that I might as well had just said fuk it and got the gen 2.

It seems there is still plenty of best bang for your buck optics in the ~1200 or so price range.

on the off chance you get the opportunity to start shooting far and since youre shooting a 308 which drops like a rock i would for sure get a 20moa rail for it. that scope seems pretty legit
