I'm currently in this situation (somewhat). My wife lost her job on Monday (laid off). I make enough money that she could be a stay at home wife, but I ain't down with that chit. She called a salon and setup an interview that same day. If she gets it (probably will) she'll be making better money then she was and be putting nearly 100% into our savings.

My wife is a stay at home mom. Emphasis on mom. We have a 2 yr old and she suffocates us all the time. There is no time for shenanigans. She works 10 hours a week from home, cooks my meals and cleans the house. I am fuarking grateful for this and I make sure to show her my appreciation any way I can. I got me a good woman. I work full-time and have 2 small businesses on the side so we're doing just fine.

Blows my mind that there are people who can stay at home all day every day doing nothing. After a week of holiday I start to miss work.
I would suggest anything, volunteering or even part time job so she would earn her money and stop cheapskating on somebody but that's my opinion

I don't know man. She doesn't value money. She values my attention and love more than money. Since we have had almost nothing many times and barely have much now.

Anything can happen though. Even if she did want money, I wouldn't have much to give her. Plus I am reckless and have no care in the world. I would just go to Mexico forever.

It's a chemical imbalance. She has PMDD which a small percentage of women suffer from. She is aware of her attitude and hates how she feels. She hates how she can't control it and it affects her.

Even though she would have a hard time getting out of bed. She would do it sooner or later and hit the gym to get a workout in. Before coming back home to eat and go back to bed until i was home.

I really feel bad for women who suffer from PMDD at this point. The meds they give you, will make your body weight jump up 20lbs easily, even with a clean diet and working out 5 days a week.

Had an ex-GF that suffered with PMDD, and I mean suffered. Flipped from one side of a coin to the other is the blink of an eye half of the time and took ages to come round from it. Lulzy story how we broke up but it'd definitely be a TLR episode, gives the guys a chuckle when they ask me to recall it over a pint though.

I've told my wife that her career and ambition are one of the things that made me marry her.
Our combined incomes allow us to do virtually whatever we want. $1500 dinner? OK sure make the reservation. Impromptu trip to LA? Book it, let's go tomorrow.


Not that I would like her less if she were unemployed, but I'm also a strong proponent of contributing to society. If she didn't have a job, she better be volunteering 30-50 hours a week or I would have a hard time respecting her. The world doesn't run itself, people do.
