Depends entirely on your genetics.
When all that says 'it is good' has been debunked, what says 'I want' remains.

Jesus Christ. Maybe... just maybe... Milk is bad for those who are lactose intolerant, and great for those who are not.

I work in the dairy industry (not a farmer) and let me tell you there is a lot of misinformation in this thread. No point in trying to address all of it, and I would be biased anyway I suppose. Anymore, most milk ends up in products other than fluid milk. People drink less of it now.

I personally don't really drink milk anymore but have no aversion to it. Eat the shiet out of ice cream, cheese, and butter though.

incorrect. lactase persistence has nothing to do with what you eat. i was a vegan for 8 years but i can drink a pint of milk with zero issues (except i'll break out, but that's a different story)

There's a correlation between milk consumption and increased risk of cancer, osteoporosis, probability of breaking bones, etc. Not to mention that dairy cows with a horrendous life that is filled with torture.

Milk is a ****ty product that does more harm to both human and cows than good.

Vanilla almond/cashew milk tastes better too, besides being nutritionally and ethically superior.

the calcium from milk makes your bones weaker by using calcium from your bones to help get the milk calcium from your blood. milk calcium is calcium carbonate not good for you like other sources of calcium. might as well not drink it intolerant or not. you need a good ratio of magnesium to calcium 1:1 to be optimal.

Dairy consumption is up 27% in 10 years. DIARY = affluence and taste.

I am lactose intolerant but I eat copious amounts of dairy food...I just love it...is it even harmful to ignore it?

But it's the truth?

1st world counties have less lactose intolerant people than 3rd world countries.

The environment(food and so on too ofc) you live in directly affects your genetics and thus your kids

Let me repeat myself btw, I've never met a person who was lactose intolerant.

Basically this.

I never used to be lactose intolerant. Brb from a tribe of nomadic pastoralists whose diet was 80% dairy for hundreds of years. Brb my grandpa lived until he was 101 and he basically lived on a liquid diet of fresh unpasteurized milk and fermented milk, eating solid food maybe once a week. Brb I was perfectly fine drinking milk every day as a child and yet these days milk bloats me and makes my skin itchy.

Modern farming methods have damaged the milk. Our cows as a kid were not pumped full of stuff and yet today, it's hard to avoid because for some reason they seem to get sick more often.

Sad/10 because I love fermented milk especially.

Idiots love saying that statement.

Humans aren't made to fly airplanes, go into space, or have infinite resources at their fingertips on a cellphone either... but we still do. Most people get downregulation of the enzyme lactase as you age, therefore you don't breakdown lactose (milk sugar) efficiently, and become lactose intolerent.

we're the only species that drinks milk from an animal that isn't of our own kind.....and only a few humans have the actual lactase enzyme to digest the milk.

This isn't just bro science either.

Exact same situation as me, it depends on the amount of lactose basically. Try getting low lactose or lactose free dairy stuff

Is this vegan commercial unique to cows or do we include chickens and fish as well?

I suppose we could only consume plant based food but then again an argument could just as easily be made for an almond? After all, we do pluck the off the tree (as do other nut eating animals) while its still alive.

Btw, is it OK for lion, wolves, and othe carnivore to eat them or are they just off limits to humans? Where do we draw the line and who gets to decide?

We however, do not. We are not carnivores. Hell, we're hardly omnivores. We only process meat if it's cooked... Ever try eating raw beef like a true carnivore? We are, from physiological standpoint, herbivores.

As a supposedly "advanced" being, humans should find it a moral obligation to prevent unnecessary animal suffering, limit damage to the environment, as well as eat a diet that is best for us. On all counts, that is objectively a vegan diet
