Sometimes. I find the fresher the eggs, the easier. Also, peel it in cold water. The water helps seperate the membrane from the egg.

Again, I normally DON'T peel a soft boiled egg unless I want to work at it. I just use a tiny spoon, and eat it directly out of the shell.

Yeah, a 'tea spoon' which we use for measuring sugar and stirring tea

You couldn't do it with a tablespoon which is bigger

The shell sticks to the egg to some extent but only if you don't cook it the right way... same way where if you hard boil it and try to peel sometimes you get that weird white film that looks like what comes off boiled milk

Am I gonna have to make a video, it's quicker to eat than it is to fully boil/hard boil an egg and then peel it and eat it that way. Plus you don't have to dirty a frying pan like you do with eggs cooked any other way

You boil it for less time, you use a spoon to put the egg from the boiling water into the egg cup, you use a knife to knock the top off of the egg to open it, you use toast soldiers to eat the yolk and you use a spoon to scoop out the hot egg onto a slice of toast. I don't think it's considered posh here, I didn't grow up with money and I remember eating egg and toast soldiers for breakfast at my grandparents place

No burning your fingers peeling it, and soft boiled tastes way better... hard boiled is for salads man

Toast cut into strips

2 pieces of toast in the toaster, you cut one into triangles or rectangles (down the middle) and you cut the other into strips about 3/4inch wide... I dunno why they're called soldiers I think it's just for kids, they sorta stand up straight and to attention and you can march them over to your egg cup to dip them I dunno...

I found a video

he does waste the yolk I think for the sake of the camera, there was also a video of a kid doing a tutorial which I liked but kids are always chit at cutting the top off this illustrates it better

Growing up, we used kettles on the wood stove to help humidify the air. Otherwise, it dried out the house really bad. It also doubled as an emergency hot water when the electricity went out. We cooked on it many times too.

he needs a spoon to drop the eggs, a special cracker, a cup, a bunch of unnecessary **** to eat a runny egg, which by the way looked absolutely disgusting.

How do you eat a recently boiled egg, even hard boiled, without burning your fingers? Impossible. That's what the cup is for. When soft boiled, it's so that we can dip our toast soldiers in easily.
