I can confirm, ever since i started training WWF i have had more confidence than ever before. If i go to a bar and some punk looks at me the wrong way? BOOM i hit them with a DDT. Walking down the street and some dude eyes up my girlfriend? BOOM.... CLOTHESLINE. More than one opponent? No problem i pull out my nunchucks and let out a Michael Jackson "Eeeh Heeeee!" and start knocking *******s out.

However, being able to 'wreck the guy who lifts weights' is such a stupid approach.
Maybe you live in a lawless society, but where I live, if I 'wrecked' someone, I would either get locked up or a criminal conviction, thus rendering my life as I know it as over.
Martial arts is great for fitness, self defense and just overall well being.
However, doing it purely so you know you can 'wreck' people is retarded, this isn't high school where you will get a detention for getting in a scuffle.

Lmao at this BS. Fighting is an uncivilized practice meant only for entertainment in the ring, like gladiators but a lot less macho. If your thread title said lift or shoot guns (more practical things) i wouldve agreed

Some are dudes who keep their egos in check, and are willing to walk away from a dude with his chest puffed out. But there is a line in the sand.
Others are like you described... Eager to beat people up over 'funny looks'.
The idea that people who do combat sports are universally 'humble', IME is martial arts movie bullchit. There are many people who enjoy intimidating or dominating other human beings, and those people also like to practice beating people up.

Agree om OP post. From my experience most people who know how to fight are humble. Of course there are some individuals who have trained martial arts couple months and they act like Mike, until they got beaten by the humble person.

Some good points in the OP but something tells me you didn't even write it up yourself and are fishing for reps

It's great to do some MMA, Combat Sports, or Martial Arts if you're into it. I actually took self defense (named "progressive street fighting") in Uni. Generally that false bravado is pretty dangerous considering not only weapons, but headbutts, knees to the groin, eye gouges, etc. "Sports" have rules. And yeah I've seen some tough farmboys, hockey, or rugby dudes who know how to rumble without any "combat sports" training. Even still those guys meet the wrong end of a screwdriver and end up in intensive care.
The more you learn about REAL combat the more you'd try to avoid it using your mind or train like a beast because you can't (i.e in Prison or Navy Seals).

Lol at thinking trained fighters somehow lack the ability to fight dangerously. This is the false bravado that you should beware, not the one you stated.
