This is exactly right. Entire moms side of the family all married once and have all nver been divorced. My aunt and uncle split for awhile, but worked it out and a few months later were living together with their kids again and have stayed strong since. As long as you invest time in a quality HUMAN not a girl that you just find attractive or a girl that gives you attention you will be fine.

That was a 2000 paper...not sure how relevant it is 17 years later however even so the abstract is quite interesting

"This paper considers women's filing as rational behavior, based on spouses' relative power in the marriage, their opportunities following divorce, and their anticipation of custody."
