I just came across this thread today, but I quit all sugar at the beginning of January as I could feel it fucing me up.

The only sugar I get now is in fruit, and I eat on average one large apple a day, greek yoghurt, and the small amounts of sugar in chit you cannot avoid.

two months ago i'd happily binge on a half pack of cookies... but cookies and other chit with added sugar are now dead to me. srs

fuc sugar

although I use coffee as a crutch in the morning (sugar free), how bad is caffeine for us?

Id imagine being a stimulant it isn't great.

This.

You can be skinny, fat, muscular, etc. and still have things like diabetes, or still be in the beginning stages of more serious illnesses.

What sugar you can't avoid?

I wouldn't eat anything that has added sugar in it.

If you want flavor in your yogurt add fruit, much better for you than yougurt with added sugar.

Also of course caffeine is bad for you although I don't know as much about it, excites the nervous system, also a diuretic.

If you eat a healthy diet there's no need for caffeine, hell since I switched to a healthier diet I sleep no more than 6 hours a day and feel great.

Back when I was eating BS and drinking several coffees a day I couldn't get enough sleep.

I eat the greek yoghurt plain, it hasn't got added sugar just naturally occurring sugar.

Maybe i'll drink some skimmed milk in a protein shake (sugar free), there is sugar in the milk although not added.

I don't eat anything with added sugar... they can all fuc off.

I started getting mad about 6 months ago when I was noticing glucose syrup in everything, so I started avoiding certain brands, foods.... then I stopped eating anything with added sugar.

No regrets.

All I eat is meat, veg, eggs, fruit, yoghurt, nuts etc.

The problem with milk is that you're getting sugar with no fiber, sugar without fiber overloads your liver and leads to insulin spikes, which can lead to insulin resistance.

People would say maybe take some fiber with the milk, but IDK if that really works.

Fruit would at least be a superior form of sugar consumption because the fruit has everything you need making it less of a strain on your body.

Most people would say take fiber with the sugar to slow down the insulin release but I'm inclined to believe that's not exactly how it works inside your body, while with the fruit everything is there intact.

LOL it's hard, trust me I used to LOVE junk food because the bottom line is it tastes good.

I miss it, especially when coworkers are always bringing stuff like donuts and cakes to work.

But you start getting older and (hopefully) wiser you learn to do things that are gonna be more beneficial to you down the road.

Sugar is addictive as fuk, the more I eat it the more I need it. I just cut out chocolate 2 weeks ago and I'm still getting cravings, but it's getting better gradually. My skin has improved dramatically. I binge eat sugary foods and find it hard to stop. Gonna tackle it one sugary treat at a time. Next up is cookies/doughnuts.

Op is an extremist. I'm all for doing what you feel best with, but when you try to preach a narrative that people shouldn't eat sugar at all, it's hard to take you serious. If we are talking purely from a sugar aspect, fructose acts no different in the body than refined/added sugar. Moderation is fine for most unless they're diabetic, obese, or have obvious health risks with sugar. Most people here are young, and healthy. I don't think most have a problem agreeing that you shouldn't over-indulge in sugar, but telling others to avoid it completely is extreme.

Btw, do you also avoid red meat since it's actually proven to increase cancer risk or are you just trying to fear monger/anti-sugar? I guarantee i could find research/papers showing risks with foods you probably think are perfectly fine to consume regualrly. That's life son.

Serious question, what do you eat? Cutting sugar out completely or only allowing few fruits seems to limit diet options a lot, and it feels like vegetables don't have enough calories a lot of times.

No ****.

Do you eat pure fructose?

Anybody ITT?

Then why bring up such a stupid argument?

I've said several times ITT eating fruit is superior to eating sugar.

Try and keep up.
