I think they look around and wonder whether they should spend the rest of their lives as unhappily as they have the last however long it is, or whether enough is enough. It’s a last gasp attempt at living happily even if that should be alone

Divorce law is an absolute travesty with outdated laws that no longer belong. I am sure feminist will protest about their preferential treatment though.

And make sure to live in a state that gives a chit about that pre nup. Not all do and many convince some judge it would not apply for X reasons and such. I know a dude that happened to and he got taken good.

Prenups aren't Magic Bulletes. At best, they only account for money and material things accrued before you got married. For example, in your bachelor years, if you had a 92' Honda Accord, a PS3 and some trashy stained furniture before you were married, but got a good job and got married and Bought an Audi S5 a PS4, brand new furniture and a couple of rave runners, she could potentially get half if not all of the new more expensive things you bought when you got married to her.

This would have been a bad deal for him regardless.

This is the only real solution. Thats why I laugh at miscers that make fun of guys like Zuckerberg and his homely wife. While she doesn't make more than him, she's been with him since the beginning and loved him even when he was poor, yet miscers here think he should be running around banging and marrying supermodels or some chit. Thats what the vast majority of rich people do (athletes/lottery winners) and it typically ends very badly.

This hasn't been awarded yet (to be clear) but the story comes from HER lawyers, clearly because she thinks taking half their assets isn't enough.

Western society is all about catering to women. This is why men are 80% of net tax payers, and women are 80% tax beneficiaries. Most welfare goes to single mothers. Only 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer by age 85, vs 1 in 2 for men; yet breast cancer receives more funding than testicular and prostate cancer combined by a significant amount. Women initiated the majority of divorces, and receive all the benefits so that she can enjoy a life that she's "become accustomed to" Nobody gives AF if the man has to move into his parents basement or live in a van after divorce, as long as he can keep providing money to his ex wife sloot....because vagina. The entire society revolves around taking care of women at the expense of men.

After knowing all this, and it's so plain to see, I don't pity the cucks who still willingly choose to sign their rights over to a woman in a one sided contract, who is inevitably going to end up divorce raping him in the end.

Do you think its fair (as in this scenario) that guys more often that not get taken to the cleaners when they get divorced while women typically "gain" from it?

It's one thing if there is a mutual decision for the woman to be a stay-at-home mother of a couple of kids. Of course then she can't advance her career and it's not exactly fair for her to get nothing after 20 years of sacrificing her career.

But that's not the case here. She's just a lazy biyatch who went after his money. Please explain to me why this lady should be given anything at all?
I agree. If no kids, she should only get half of the marital assets. Even with cheating involved and how chitty that is, I would walk away with my head held high not being a vengeful bish. Then hope Karma gets him and he rots in hell. lol

Exactly this. Being lonely when alone is much better than being lonely with someone that makes you miserable.

I said in all my posts that what she's asking for is excessive, not right..
But I'm more in the middle on this based solely on the length of time they were together.. 22 years- you can't say that love wasn't involved and that kind of creates a gray area in my thinking. Honestly if a marriage ends both parties should want the best for the other..

Edit- I don't personally think I'm entitled to anything that I didn't work for.. however that doesn't mean that I can't see things from different angles

Granny legz spitting the truth. Seriously though it depends. I guess I could see even cases without kids where the woman should get something. Example: if somehow a woman stayed home and did some part time job from home and cooked/cleaned while the husband was spending 60 hrs a week at the office to make their lives better, then yea maybe she contributed a bit. If they were married for 25 years and got divorced, it's not unreasonable to say maybe she should get part of the assets. There are ways of contributing to assets in a marriage beyond just making money. But that is just not the case with most of these outrageous divorce cases.

I'm still not following your angle. Of course love was involved... so what? Are you saying she should get paid for emotional damages?

Just to be clear, I'm not even trying to be a dik to you or anything, just genuinely curious as to why you're defending this terrible woman in any capacity. To be blunt, I think it may be just this instinct women have to defend other women no matter what. I hate to even say this cause I'm not sexist and I don't like thinking about things in this way, but it's just an honest observation.

Yes, I agree that if they made the decision for her to be a homemaker that is a different story. There are couples like that with no kids, where the wife still stays home and takes care of all household responsibilities. That is entirely different, as it's harder to enter the workforce after a long lapse in employment. With that situation, I think it's fair for her to get support until she gets on her feet.

I don't care a **** about the celebrity situation, but strictly speaking about the court and the precedent this sets, there is no way in hell a married couple getting a divorce with no kids, should have to pay their future earnings to the other. It's a ****ing divorce, it's over. Done. I'll be damned if this is actually true and somehow ends up being the result. Just no way.

This may have been the case in very rare scenarios and it's honestly kind of a relic of a by-gone era. In 2018 if you have no kids and no job, then you're a deadbeat. Doesn't matter if it's a male or female. I could never date, let alone marry, a woman who would just "take care of the house" while I work. I lived alone for 8 years, can cook very well and my place was almost always spotless. Why would anyone need a stay at home wife with no kids in the past 20-30 years is beyond my understanding.

I'd say if there are no kids and the woman stayed home taking care of household duties, she may be entitled to idk 15-20% of assets and absolutely no support. It's not the man's duty to support her after their relationship ends. What she should get is what she has earned by doing what she did to contribute to the marriage. I don't think cooking and cleaning counts for much more than 15% and that's being sort of generous tbh. And how about all the left over time she had sitting at home watching bull**** TV and reading gossip magazines while the husband worked his ass off to support that lifestyle? Lol maybe she should be paying him back for some of those good times now that I think about it.

In some courts, yes, she could. However that's not what I was talking about. I was talking about what's fair and what's not in those situations. Your scenario I don't believe is fair at all, but I'm not the judge so it doesn't really matter what I think.

I don't think cooking and cleaning counts for much more than 15% and that's being sort of generous tbh.
lol I was agreeing with your previous post and now you seem to be saying the opposite. Color me confused. lol

While I don't understand having a stay at home partner with no children, it does happen and it's an agreement made by both parties. So in that case, I do think it's fair for the one who stayed home to be able to get on their feet after the divorce. Re-entering the workforce after years away is not easy at all. Of course they should have to show proof of doing everything they can and not just be sitting around doing nothing saying they're trying.

Didn't mean to confuse you. What I was saying is they should get SOMETHING, not 1/2 the assets and a monthly payment too. Look women are adults just like men and have to live with their poor decisions just like men. If a woman decides to stay at home not doing chit without raising kids, then she should have to face the consequences of that decision.

Why should the man shoulder that responsibility? I get that it's hard to re-enter the workforce, so the solution is to work instead of sitting at home not doing jack chit. Women are not babies, they're adults responsible for their actions. They shouldn't put themselves in a situation where they could get screwed in a divorce.
