I agree that it is in the root and changing perspectives and behaviour and cultural background is difficult, but you guys are aware of who you are and those sad shootings are the proof for you being dangerous to yourselves. HOWEVER, you still don't want to ban guns ? This is what I don't getNo you were chitting on America then calling someone retarded as if they strengthens your argument. While I agree getting rid of guns would lessen the amount of gun related deaths per year, that doesn't mean its an ideal solution. If we cut off everyone's hands there'd be no more school shootings but would it be worth it? Clearly getting rid of guns is not something most Americans want, and its not as if since the existence of guns there have been school shootings. The problem is rooted somewhere deeper in our society, and to blame it simply on guns is foolish. Who knows, maybe we get rid of guns and these kids start throwing acid in people's faces or using mustard gas.

We happen to have mexico, a nation with 5 times as much gun violence as us, as a neighbor.
It's not as simple as your 23 year old brain thinks it is, you cannot compare countries when talking about gun violence because there are so many more factors than just guns => population => deaths by guns. It is far, far more complicated than that.

No guns, and almost no gun deaths there per year.
We're one of the greatest consumer continents in the world, land-locked with the biggest drug manufacturing and exporters in the world which also fuels our street level criminal activity and a large chunk of our gun violence. A firearm amnesty program such as Australia'smayhave a slight impact on spree shootings (seeing as most of those weapons seem to be legally obtained) but that's a drop in the pan compared to other firearm related homicides.
The best path for America involves a multi-faceted approach of firearms education (encompassing the introduction, use of, and safe storage of firearms), parenting, and mental health monitoring for at risk individuals, IMO. But that's not expedient enough to be in the discussion apparently.

The folks who live here and have similar opinions, although I don't agree with them, they're a lot closer to the action than you are and know more about this country than you do. Again, you're not helping yourself by spouting off at the mouth, like that. You're just ignorant as fuk.

Criminals don't care about the law. If they want to kill, they gonna kill.

The war on drugs failed, making them illegal didn't stop anyone from using them. Why do you think it'll work with guns? Why do you think that you won't just be harming law abiding, sane citizens?
Why do you favor leaving guns in the hands of criminals but taking them away from citizens? Do you think the shooting today would've been 100% prevented had the sale of firearms been illegal? Do you think that he wouldn't have tried to obtain them through another avenue?
I don't believe that banning the sale and possession of firearms will fix the gun violence problem here in the US. I've lived here my entire life (32 years) and I know the culture. We romanticize war, we see people die on TV every day, literally, we breed narcissism through the media to our youth, we're literally bombarded with negative/false information on a daily basis.
The problem isn't the firearm, it's the person holding it. If you ban the sale/possession of firearms, criminals will be the only people with them and then we're really ****ed.

Go read up on World War 2. The Japanese were more barbaric than even the Germans.
Now Japan is docile because they've been bombarded by propaganda as a side effect of the 2 bombs and the Marshall plan.... but those dudes have some cold blood running in their genes. Read up on how they used to capture women and put them in dog cages to be used as prostitutes, and how the Japanese men would treat them.......

statistically speaking, these things aren't something to worry about
same with terrorist attacks
just live your life and if you get struck by lightning or shot by an FA, it's just the way she goes, boys
if i get shot, don't cry for me, since i'm already bald
