What's amazing that he was "arrested" on suspicion of murder, and that he had to come up with bail money.

Also that the "accomplice" hasn't come forward, nor has the stolen jewelry as the investigation continues. Surely, for grounds of the being arrested means that the the accomplice who took off during the "incident" is innocent and was simply going to clean the jewelry for the old gent and was planning on returning it.

He was held because if you think about it for a nano second, the only witness is dead. It's only this guys word that he was being burgled (or indeed that there were two of them)

Having said that, uk justice is a sham. My friend who was stabbed to death, his uncle was murdered just 2 years earlier (unrelated). The murderer got 10 damn years. The police were called 20 minutes before he was murdered

Also about 17-20 years a go a farmer shot a burglar and he was sent to prison. There was a lot of outrage about it at the time, and at that time we were not allowed to defend ourselves. Which is against our god given rights. The law was changed after this farmers case and we may now use reasonable force.Do you honestly believe that they have concluded this case and fully investigated it to the point that they can just say no need to suspect this guy of wrong doing?

in 1997, in a country lane just outside of my town. A man was murdered, the mans girlfriend was not. Some guys pulled up, killed the boyfriend and she managed to get away. The police obviously pulled her in for questioning as she was the only one to question. It was the right thing to do too, because it took me all of 5 seconds to work out it was her who murdered he boyfriend.

Just as a point of order, I don't think the law changed after Tony Martin. He shot one of the burglars in the back and had booby trapped his house. Was lying in wait for them. I mean, I don't have any problem at all with what he did, but the law before and after ALWAYS said 'reasonable' force only. The jury didn't think it was reasonable and sent him to prison.
