I am not trying to lose weight right now, ergo I eat whatever I want. I do not expect to lose weight while eating "pure trash". The point I was making is that even while eating correctly and exercising, the results are identical (except I gain some muscle).

If you're happy with it, we are too. But most your posts reflect the inner discontent with life you feel. I think all everyone is saying is that you have the power to change that. Whether you want to or not is up to you - it's not going to affect anyone else. We're all good.

It snuck up on me once and didn't know how fat I was until I saw a pic. I knew I gained weight because clothing sizes but looking in the mirror I thought it was just a little chubby.

My job is sedentary (I'm a Network Compliance Analyst), and I pretty much zone out on the couch most nights with my cat, watching random crap on YouTube or streaming services like Amazon Prime video. I did buy a set of Bowflex barbells and a bench, but I've barely used them in the last month. No motivation to bother, knowing the inevitable outcome.

And I lost weight the first time doing a short dumbbell routine and a 45 minute walk 4-5x a week.
It really is as simple as eating less and moving more. The most difficult part is being honest with yourself.

I know it's harder to lose weight with hypothyroidism. My wife has had it for over a decade. I have hyper and it makes me want to eat everything in sight. But I have self control with what I fork into my mouth. I don't have a six paxk, but I look like I lift and can see my penor when I look down, so I'm ahead of about 75% of guys out there.
You are the living embodiment of this thread. Full of cope and excuses. Nothing works, it's too hard, my doctor won't give me my meds. Everyone, and I mean everyone I know who is hypo takes synthroid or a generic version. Every day for years or even the rest of their life. I'll have to take it forever once I nuke my thyroid. So it should have been incredibly easy to find a Dr who would prescribe it long term like it should be, but you just said "oh well" and gave up.

Late back to my own thread but after reading 7 pages and seeing so much cope from fatties, if you can't do something yourself because of your weight and don't at least try to do something about losing it, you are a waste of space

This thread is really sad. Mental weakness is a real thing boyos...
I hope anyone who reads this thread can learn a thing or two and see how important it is to have some inner drive and dedication. YOU are in control of your life, once you lose sight of that and start making excuses things can spiral downwards fast. Stay in control, and always have the mental strength to keep pushing forward in the right direction.

I think a massive contributing factor is the complete lack of nutritional knowledge society has. These people are fat as fuk, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were malnourished. Micro nutrients are hugely important to feeling full, and proper micro nutrients hugely improve mood.
When I hopped on MFP and tracked everything, I could hit my macros and still feel super hungry. When I made better food choices, that didn't happen as much. With the meal replacement I'm on now I hardly feel it because it hits micro nutrients hard.
I think this is what the post above was saying with the bolded 'a calorie isn't a calorie" post. But lol at reading all that.

You're not supposed to be a ripped twink sonny boy. So, your genes are gonna get all genetified in a famine and hold onto mass like a tenacious mma fighter getting smacked, holding on for dear life sonny boy. Now sonny, if you go on a 2k cal/day diet, you're gonna plateau sonny boy, but eventually son, eventuaaaaaaaaaaalllllly your body is gonna say phuck it, i give my mass unto the hologram. Might take you 2 yrs to get down to twink rippage instead of 1 year. but, you willlll. You will son cuz far more resistant munch monsters than you have done it. Also, you don't really risk that much injury while dieting and lifting cuz you got the tendons and ligaments to be smackified resistant to the injuries son. I"ll smack you boy. Son I will really think you might have good genes for some plifting sonny boy. Oh whatever you don't get it son, I smack it.

I'm prepared for the neg, but everyone seems like they're legitimately trying to help you get back on your feet, and I hope you can before it's too late.

This isn't excusing anything, I'm saying there's an education problem. I learned more in a few days browsing the nutritional section of this forum than years in school. But I had to go out and look for it, most people won't do that. Most people have no idea how calories work, micro or macro nutrients, what different cravings mean or the importance of hydration.
