to maintain 400lbs with your thyroid it would be interesting to see what you eat anyway. no one cares whether you are trying to cut or maintain your bulk. it is your life, and your choice. you can pity yourself boyo. you could lose it if you wanted, but you don't want it so who cares right? i already posted a video of a woman losing 200lbs in a year. and she is short, yeah she has a ton of loose skin but it is better than being a fat pig. a man could lose way more than 200lbs in that time if he weighs more. the guy who coached her is also paying a 500lb man to lose 300lbs in a year. 5000 dollars. he is also paying others to lose certain amounts over a period of time. being a fat pig is a choice

Fair enough. You want to stay as you are because you say you won't lose weight anyways due to your condition.

If you're happy with it, we are too. But most your posts reflect the inner discontent with life you feel. I think all everyone is saying is that you have the power to change that. Whether you want to or not is up to you - it's not going to affect anyone else. We're all good.

I read something that said when we age the concept of time or how we experience it changes, which can also relate to eating. You can eat the same amount of calories for years but one day it will feel like you didn't eat enough (your brain's perception) and so you eat over your normal calories. Over time we know what happens.

It snuck up on me once and didn't know how fat I was until I saw a pic. I knew I gained weight because clothing sizes but looking in the mirror I thought it was just a little chubby.

Did not say I was happy. I've exhausted the methods by which people have suggested to lose weight. They don't work.

I currently probably eat around 4000-6000 calories per day. I eat usually 1-2 bowls of cereal for breakfast (good sized bowls). For lunch I tend to go to Kroger and either get a large salad (not particularly healthy as I put plenty of bacon, cheese, and dressing on it), chicken from the Deli (usually eat around 4-5 pieces of varying sizes), or some of their Macaroni & Cheese (medium container which is only $3). They sell by weight, and the salad is typically around a pound (usually a little less). For dinner, I tend to heat up something frozen like a cheap pizza or pizza rolls, chicken nuggets, or similar. Some times I get the grille out and cook smoked sausage, or chicken, or fish. My cat likes those things so I make stuff I can share with him. I can easily eat a whole pizza (again, stuff like Red Baron, so the equivalent maybe of a small from a delivery company like Papa Johns), or ~40 pizza rolls, or a large fish fillet.

My job is sedentary (I'm a Network Compliance Analyst), and I pretty much zone out on the couch most nights with my cat, watching random crap on YouTube or streaming services like Amazon Prime video. I did buy a set of Bowflex barbells and a bench, but I've barely used them in the last month. No motivation to bother, knowing the inevitable outcome.

I know you don't want to hear it, but since switching most of my meals to Huel I feel 1000x better day to day and it saves me a ton of money on fast food. I'm at my desk 8.5 hours a day.
And I lost weight the first time doing a short dumbbell routine and a 45 minute walk 4-5x a week.
It really is as simple as eating less and moving more. The most difficult part is being honest with yourself.

I didn't want to jump on the BS bandwagon but you are complete cope. Nothing works to lose weight but you admit you eat up to 3x the daily calorie intake??? And you don't exercise???

I know it's harder to lose weight with hypothyroidism. My wife has had it for over a decade. I have hyper and it makes me want to eat everything in sight. But I have self control with what I fork into my mouth. I don't have a six paxk, but I look like I lift and can see my penor when I look down, so I'm ahead of about 75% of guys out there.

You are the living embodiment of this thread. Full of cope and excuses. Nothing works, it's too hard, my doctor won't give me my meds. Everyone, and I mean everyone I know who is hypo takes synthroid or a generic version. Every day for years or even the rest of their life. I'll have to take it forever once I nuke my thyroid. So it should have been incredibly easy to find a Dr who would prescribe it long term like it should be, but you just said "oh well" and gave up.

No I read it. Every cope word. You said you gave up because nothing works. Which is b.s. You gave up because it's easier to lay down and rot. Then you started rationalizing it to yourself and coming up with every excuse in the book.

You didn't read it at all. If you think I'm trying to lose weight while consuming 6k calories per day, you're an illiterate potato.

Late back to my own thread but after reading 7 pages and seeing so much cope from fatties, if you can't do something yourself because of your weight and don't at least try to do something about losing it, you are a waste of space

Apparently you're the one having trouble reading. I know you decided to lay down and rot. You gave up (which I said in my last post). You rationalized the cope and excuses in your head and gave up.

I know bodybuilders that will eat upwards of 8-10k calories per day (but only right before show) and it usually consists of CHIT food to completely blow them up from being flat. I am very interested in what your consistent 6,000 calories / day consists of.

You know son, I am a vision vegetable, and I decided to watch one of your boobtube vids to ascertain where you are in this holographic life. Well son, your frame is the frame of a smacker. You were born to smack son. You got big hands, big wrists, big forearms. Son you're just built for power son. You're not supposed to be a ripped twink sonny boy. So, your genes are gonna get all genetified in a famine and hold onto mass like a tenacious mma fighter getting smacked, holding on for dear life sonny boy. Now sonny, if you go on a 2k cal/day diet, you're gonna plateau sonny boy, but eventually son, eventuaaaaaaaaaaalllllly your body is gonna say phuck it, i give my mass unto the hologram. Might take you 2 yrs to get down to twink rippage instead of 1 year. but, you willlll. You will son cuz far more resistant munch monsters than you have done it. Also, you don't really risk that much injury while dieting and lifting cuz you got the tendons and ligaments to be smackified resistant to the injuries son. I"ll smack you boy. Son I will really think you might have good genes for some plifting sonny boy. Oh whatever you don't get it son, I smack it.

The same as all morbidly obese people, they either underestimate calories, have no dea what their actual intake is, or straight up lie. They also don't count snacks, condiments, sides or liquid calories.

This thread is really sad. Mental weakness is a real thing boyos...

I hope anyone who reads this thread can learn a thing or two and see how important it is to have some inner drive and dedication. YOU are in control of your life, once you lose sight of that and start making excuses things can spiral downwards fast. Stay in control, and always have the mental strength to keep pushing forward in the right direction.

I'm not going to go up to a fatty either and disrespect them in public, but if they can't fit through a door in front of me I would laugh. There is 0 accountability coming from these people.

@InstantLoser, can't find your comment where you said "it isn't laziness" just LMAO @ the cope. It is 10000% laziness and you making excuses keeps you at 400lbs... you are holding yourself back brah. Not being lazy and taking accountability is what brought me from 155lbs to 223 lbs 12% bf. Take that redpill with your next large sized coke.

I think a massive contributing factor is the complete lack of nutritional knowledge society has. These people are fat as fuk, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were malnourished. Micro nutrients are hugely important to feeling full, and proper micro nutrients hugely improve mood.
When I hopped on MFP and tracked everything, I could hit my macros and still feel super hungry. When I made better food choices, that didn't happen as much. With the meal replacement I'm on now I hardly feel it because it hits micro nutrients hard.

I think this is what the post above was saying with the bolded 'a calorie isn't a calorie" post. But lol at reading all that.

That is because society is run by charlatans and opportunistic sociopaths. All of the info anyone needs is out there and readily available.

Being around like minded people that enable this sort of thing

My wife and I were watching this and died laughing:

This might be true, but I dont like the mindset that it comes from. Its the same mentality that says that someone became a purse snatcher because of socioeconomic circumstances. We as a society have got to stop coddling and making excuses for everything. Tough love ALWAYS works better than enabling and excusing.

I think what they're trying to convey is that you're saying traditional methods don't work while at the same time eating well above maintenance. I understand you're not trying to lose weight at the moment, but it does seem like you're trying to gain it. Hypothyroidism sucks, but your body can't magically create fat from nothing.

I'm prepared for the neg, but everyone seems like they're legitimately trying to help you get back on your feet, and I hope you can before it's too late.

Is it?
This isn't excusing anything, I'm saying there's an education problem. I learned more in a few days browsing the nutritional section of this forum than years in school. But I had to go out and look for it, most people won't do that. Most people have no idea how calories work, micro or macro nutrients, what different cravings mean or the importance of hydration.
