Ugh lucky you. I've never seen them larger than ~100-120.
At 150s ya, that's massive...

Pretty sure some guys could make DB benching(1 hand) their GFs weight a requirement....

I imagine for most miscers at their body weights, if they actually lifted longterm, I can't see how they could only use dumbbells.

I do both and enjoy both, but for a few years I focused only on db and i'm glad I did because now I throw up big db numbers -- then I did the same for bb and now my bb numbers are way up

now i alternate and have good numbers with both db and bb and it feelsgreatman

I've done a lot of both, i actually think barbell bench is safer with the bars in the correct spot as you have less chance of ****ing up your shoulders and don't have to throw heavy dumbells around.

In short:

barbell for heavy weight/power

dumbell for stretch/hypertrophy

I honestly just bench with dumbbells (neutral grip, shoulder width) because I almost always have issues with my right rotator cuff when benching with a barbell, even with close-grip. Maybe my form with the barbell is trash, but I'd rather just avoid the movement altogether it like I've been doing.

Then again, I also have the same right (NEVER the left) rotator cuff problems when overhead pressing and doing dips.

- healthier for your shoulder

Bench press:

- moar weys on the baahbell

Not sure what you mean here. DB's can go as high as anyone needs them to excluding worlds strongest man/record breaking powerlifters/mr oly top 10.

I imagine one can "load" more weight onto a bar and press then the combination of 2 heavy DB's although I don't agree that means more load on the pec muscles specifically. When performing the barbell bench, secondary movers are more heavily recruited to bear the increased load. Correct me if I'm mistaken.

Why not do both?

But in reality, as a pure mass builder, barbell bench press is superior when executed correctly.

Also, you look decent but honestly your chest looks like it's lacking mass, maybe some BB bench will help

After avoiding any chest related movements for over 2 years due to having Thoracic outlet syndrome and maintaining sub 10% BF as a natty I would imagine my chest should be lacking.

Yeah i don't see anyone really benching the 110's unless they are really big. 110's are so much heavier than the 90's and 100's. That's like a 275+ bench for 5 reps at least. Would be very hard to do on a deficit.

Cambered bench press was the best investment I've spent on bars.

Brb getting stronger on normal barbell because of it
Brb same ROM as dumbbells but can load more weight

Nah.

Heavy dumbbells are too hard to manaouver into position.

The 180’s and up it’s hit and miss on getting them on knees by myself.

On a beginner program like AllPros Simple Beginner Routine lets say you trained for 7 months straight starting with a DB press of 45 lbs. You'd make it to about 90 lbs. Then you'd still have 5 months left to raise your DB press another 10-20 lbs using any other intermediate program and continuing to train.

It seems reasonable for anyone to accomplish of average starting bodyweight/height with some general fitness/lifting experience.

EOD could be benching that easily, he just refuses to put in the work and listen to people. Even bobbydigitaloa tried to help him, he's just not interested in doing anything other than what he wants in the gym, and then complaining later that he can't get to the next level.

TFW you have problems getting 180lb dumbbells on your knees and lots of people were excited to hit a 180lb bench lmao

I don't understand how you would have trouble being as strong as you are. I'm much smaller and weaker and have gotten 145's into position alone. You must have poor technique when getting them into position.

I don't remember but I would guess my weight here is 180-185 lbs.

Keep your entire body tight and locking it into place, elbows slightly bent.
Rock forward and backwards then use the momentum to fall onto the bench in place with the weights at near top of the movement.

I'm tickled that you made an account just to post ITT. What makes you think that pressing narrow with DB's won't result in the chest width you desire?

No it does matter. As a Natty if you don't build up solid strength in the basic compounds you won't make it. A properly perioidised program with good exercise selection is essential.
