Usually mountain Lions run the **** away and hide from people walking in a trail. That one is a cheeky mofo. I'd fight it though, I can crush its face in one blow of my open carry baseball bat. After that the people's elbow will finish it. The Masai twinks kill actually african Lions that pussy has no shot

Humans are apex predators. A well built athletic man would have a decent chance of winning in a face to face fight, especially if it was a smaller female mountain lion like in that video, running away is suicide. Now if it was a real lion, tiger, or jaguar a human has no chance either way, but I would still go out fighting not running.

Id get behind him and grab his tail... like a snake... ever seen a cat chase it's tail? Here is a hint they never catch it! After he was good and tuckered i'd throw him over my left shoulder (right one has some old injuries) and relocate him somewhere safer.... preferably near running water in case he is thirsty from all this tom foolery we set out on together.

just lmfao

every single one of our behaviors suggests that we are prey

brb anxiety
brb hiding poop, toilet hygiene
brb not wanting to be loud
brb generally avoid fighting
brb social, herd creatures
brb no fur, low T, no horns, no claws
brb empathy and emotion
brb low body fat = attractive

Think about it bro. We are prey creatures who ended up developing enough intelligence to hunt and kill our predators. Strip the herd and your tools away and you are nothing but food vs a mountain lion -- doesn't matter how athletic you are.

If the human and cougar weighed the same, and the human had no weapons then he would lose. But in most scenarios a man (not a soyboy) is going to have a weight and strength advantage over your average cougar. The cougar has a huge speed advantage so trying to outrun it is stupid and would just activate in its killer instinct. Best thing to do is to charge the cougar, 9 out of 10 times it runs, if it stands its ground then you use your strength advantage to overpower it and choke it out, snap its neck. You probably will get scratched up but as long as you dont let it bite your neck your good.

Weight yes. Strength, no. The human will also be considerably slower than a Cougar. A Cougar could swipe at your face before you could even register to block it.

You just described the traits of a soyboy not your average man through the majority of human history. Before the welfare state and modern civilization all the soyboys would have died within the first years of life never even reaching adulthood. Humans are apex predators, the apex predator, it's not even debated in biology.

That's like saying, "strip away the mountain lion's claws, and it's terrible at building skyscrapers."

This may come as a surprise to you, but intelligence is a huge factor in survival.

lol No actually the biological evidence of bite marks on human bones and basic reasoning suggests we were prey to hyenas, wolves, lions, tigers, and bears.

Yeah, but being able to reason won't really help you when you are alone vs a mountain lion unless you can improvise a weapon.

This might be surprising to you too, but intelligent people don't go into mountain lion country without a weapon. Surprising...I know.

I'm not sure about overpowering it (even if you actually were stronger...factor in its speed and agility), but the whole point is to make it think twice/that you aren't an easy target. They don't want to risk getting hurt, because that will making hunting other things a lot more difficult - so it's basically about making them think that phucking with you isn't worth the trouble.

Guarantee you an average 145lb cougar is not going to be stronger than an athletic 200lb man. The cougar in that video looked ~100lbs. In a face to face fight the cat is going to bite at a limb and start scratching, that's when I start bashing its head in with a rock, or drive my knuckles into its jugular and break its neck. The only way cougars take down larger animals than itself is ambush attacks and a bite to the windpipe. If you don't run, it loses it's main advantage, now it has to fight another apex predator ( a man) twice its size. If it was a large 200+ lb cat then you have no chance unless your brock lesnar.

Running or turning your back is literally the worst thing to do with any predatory animal, it instantly projects you as prey. Only thing to do is stand your ground & prey it doesn’t fuk you up then go for any vulnerable area like eyes or genitals if it attacks.

Tigers can be prey to bears, and bears can be prey to tigers. Both are apex predators. Humans are apex predators, and historically would never go into dangerous territory without weapons or alone. Cro magnons, and neanderthals took down literally any animals they wanted, even wooly mammoths (something no other animal could prey upon). Sometimes humans got killed during their hunts, it doesnt negate the fact that they were, and still are apex predators.

Can't really argue with this. If we were so alpha and strong we would have never had the need to develop weapons or hunt in groups. A weaponless human surviving an animal attack the chances are low af. Give em a spear even a fkn knife and boom survival chances increase a ton. Our skin is weak af a swipe from the lion anywhere vulnerable and its over boyo

That's fuking retarded. Human intelligence is our greatest asset. Brain function takes up 20%+ of our caloric needs, much higher relative to any other animal. If we didn't get a positive ROI on our big brains we wouldn't have evolved it. Making and using weapons is our ROI on our big brains. Stripping humans of their weapons or hunting in groups is so dumb, its like saying wolves are not apex predators because they can only take down large animals in groups. Or cougars arent apex predators because they have claws and big teeth. Humans can make weapons and hunt in groups because of our big brains, its why we are apex predators.

Not a mountain lion but looks can be deceiving.

EDIT: After watching it again the angle on the rope might make a big difference but I'm not sure

Different animal and all, but I was running in the woods near my place, there were a few coyotes that came out in a clearing I was in, we stared at each other for about 10 seconds then I sprinted after them, got em to bolt into the woods.

While I'd like to at least have a knife on me, I would probably do the same for a mountain lion.

Dunno why some say cougars are light. The internet says weight ranges from 53-100KG. That's a huge cat. Animals also have much better CNS recruitment and the claws would make quick work of you. It won't go for your legs either and instead your face or neck.
