He used to be a competitive Halo player like 9 years ago which gave him a good platform. Then he got in on the Battle Royale genre early, which has exploded over the last few years (H1Z1, PUBG, Fortnite).

The guys who got into that scene are ballin now. It's ultra saturated and competitive these days.

My question is: what kind of losers actively follow or donate to these people?

I've watched some twitch gameplay here and there but not once have I ever thought 'hey I'll drop a hundred on this guy in hopes he'll shout-out my name on stream'. Not once have I considered to set aside 2 hours of my day because ____ is streaming for that time.

Imagine finding out your unemployed son is using your credit card to donate to some twitch streamer and spends hours on end moderating the stream's twitch chat. If that were my son I'd beat his fkn ass lol
The geeks in his stream are desperate to get noticed. Typing in chat is worthless though, so they donate money. And every now and then some guy who must make good money donates a few hundred for the lulz.

Or if you're lucky, that arab prince guy donates you $40,000.

So many rustled jimmies ITT. It's called supply and demand. Not that much different than an actor/actress or an athlete. It took an insane amount of hours and years to get where he is today. He's much better than someone like Logan Paul or any of the other **** YT'ers with no real viable skillset.

tbh Ninja's probably the last guy to get salty over. He's a competitive player, entertaining, and seems like a decent dude. His social media game is insane as well.

There's girls on twitch wearing tiny shorts, putting mirrors everywhere, and getting donations every time they get out of their chair. It's like a no-nudity virtual strip club and most the visitors are stupid teenagers blowing 1/4 of their paycheck on these thotties. Their stream is 10% gameplay, 90% butt and cleavage.

Is $500,000/month real tea? They said he plays about 10 hours a day.
most of them are fakes/stolen cc's. You really think the losers who sit there watching other people video games - can afford $100 tips??? They can't even afford to buy girls drinks at the bar.

Half the people there are probably working professionals who grew up playing games, who are rotting at their desks waiting for 5pm to hit so they can go home and game themselves.

I don't donate but I use my Amazon Prime Sub every month on PUBG streamers. This month is Swagger. Very chill dude. Around my age and would be a cool dude to grab a beer with sometime.

a lot of non gamers in here it seems. A lot of you seem like you cant understand why watching video games would be fun. Its the same god damn thing as watching anything for entertainment. Its like me saying, I cant figure out why people can sit for 2-4 hours watching baseball, basketball, or football. Though, I actually do, I just dont like it.

Hes one of a kind and there are always people that get lucky enough to strike gold...and he did

As for his "character" or him on stream, hes boring and I havent watched more than 1 minute of his gameplay.

It's far from easy money. Easy money is 90% of people spending bulk of their time ********ing and redditing working at an office job. Dude probably put in a LOT of hours before getting exposure, then learned to professionally edit videos which is not an easy task for an average person, manages his social media, finances, investments etc. It is full on concentrated effort with a lot of stress coming with is as you can't just take a 3 week vacation. You have an obligation to your fanbase to keep streaming and posting. Of course all we see is a guy making $2 mil a year playing computer games but you have to think what's behind all this facade.

At first I was like wtf is this BS....but then I looked at the dude's schedule and he literally plays non stop every day. He puts in his hours...he has no life atm but making that kind of bank he can retire for good very soon.
There is but one path....we kill them all.

twitch sub revenue (he'd be on on 80/20 split i.e. 4$ for every $5 sub)
ad revenue
donation revenue
you tube revenue
red bull partnership
luminosity partership
any 3rd party sponsorships or deals he does

do twitch myself and its a lot more lucrative than people think

As it has been said before. It is no different than watching someone play sports. To some it brings entertainment. It's just something new and different than you are used to. So of course you're going to think it is abnormal.

At end of the day you're watching someone with level of skill that is unattainable without insane dedication and practice.

I enjoy playing both sports and video games. But as for watching, only sports. watching someone play a video game just seems crazy to me when you could just as easily put your **** up and play it yourself. with sports thats not the case. not like you can just get a pickup game whenever you want and for most can't get that competitiveness at all if your out of school. only way I could understand watching someone play a video game rather than play yourself is if they are trying to learn a guys build or some kind of guide/tutorial or some ****.

i'm not hating though. Good for the guy. Like someone else posted in the thread I'd rather see ordinary dudes who are probably chill as fuk and levelheaded rake in that cash than some roid monkey whos probably a piece of **** in person.
