A normal cash gift is usually at least 288 per person, 168 if you're a poverty student, and many gifts like 888, 2680, etc, many iterations of 2 (meaning easy), 8 meaning properous, etc.

See my post above... but forgot to include Lebanese, Italians etc. 200 people in my culture is considered a small wedding... 5-600 is large, but I've seen over 1k.

My wife's huge is big and pretty wealthy. She has 11 aunts and uncles just on her mom's side alone. I had to invite a fukk ton of people. They flew in from all over the place. I think I had over 200 people show up for it and prob had to invite 300. They paid for it so I didn't complain about it.

My wife and I would have been fine with a small wedding but we basically had to invite everyone because a fukk ton would have been offended if we didnt invite them. They did well with all the planning because it wasn't a painful experience at all.

My mother got 200k cash when she married my father and I'm 100% serious.

She was 25 and in Indian culture that's fukking pushing it, my grandmother basically paid her to get married and start having babies pronto.

That's not the norm, though. My grandmother is insane. She's been married 4 times to different rich guys, she's one of those women you see on the ID channel, I am half convinced she murdered them all for their money.

But generally speaking yeah, you do get a lot of gifts and cash at Indian weddings if have rich friends.

If there was a god running the entire cosmos, why would they care about weddings? I've never understood that line of thinking. If there is a creator, it's definitely a more hands-off approach.
