Speaking as rationally as possible... this kid killed a 10 month old child. A 10 year old remembers a lot more than you think. This will be seared into her brain and could negatively affect her for the rest of her life.
I'm pretty primitive so I'd be voting to put her down.

this is old news, but....that girl needs serious punishment boy son of a boy
Son, I've had 10 yr old kids. Pretty soon I will have a 10 yr old granboy son of ass, they know damn well you shouldn't be stomping on a baby's head of ass. People who don't have kids greatly underestimate how morally mature a 10 yr old is. That girl needs to be smacked down hard boy son. The parent of the child needs to be killed, in ass of death. Son I am triggered in rage so hard because I know these cucks in the UK will give this girl an award for what she did, and pay her a stipend of $5k per month to help her get over her grief.
I am assed
i smack the piss out of the whole chit

Rest in peace to the baby and feel really sorry for the family. Can't imagine the pain they are going through.
The really demented serial killers start off torturing and killing animals at a very young age. Jeffery Dahmer was always going to turn out doing what he did since he was 5 years old or birth. Fukced up people, total disassociation to what they do and what others feel. That might be a 10 year old girl, but no, kids don't just do **** like this. I am not saying jail for life, but she should not be allowed to roam free.

Just don’t know how I feel about the thought of a 10 year old serving life in prison for murder.

It's not about punishment it's just about removing a threat from society, she's beyond help. Put her in a psych ward her whole life or w/e but point is she has to be removed before she can hurt others as an adult

Obviously it’s fukd up, and a horrible situation. But at 10 does a child even understand death, or injury? Did she really know what the outcome of this would be?

I don't think a child should do life in prison, however at 10 years old she is not clueless. I started babysitting my baby niece when I was 8 years old and my sister did the same for me at 8 when I was a baby. Children at that age are capable of understanding that a baby is a small human and needs to be taken care of unless they are messed up/legit psychopaths, there's a reason that cases like these are not common. Girl needs to be institutionalized.

I think you all are seriously overstating the ability of a child to understand the result of their actions. But then again most of your experience is probably based on dealing with your own kids. And since parents are the most deluded people on earth when it comes to their own kids, that isn’t surprising

The closer we approach the uncertainty of life's ending the more we wish to trade all of the things we have acquired in exchange for all of the things we have lost: wealth for youth, knowledge for fresh curiosity, resignation for hope. We'd trade our wisdom for new experiences, but it is wisdom that will teach us that at the end of the road the only new experience is death.

That speaks to a the reactions of a child. Not a cold blooded murderer with a full grasp of actions, consequences, death, and murder.

You guys are laying into me like I suggested it was an accident and not a big deal. All I said was I dont know how I feel about her potentially facing life in prison.

Otherwise in most normal families, 10 year olds are fully capable of babysitting an infant. That's such an awful situation god damn.
Only thing you can take away from it is never leave your baby out of your sight, even around other kids.

I also didn't read the story cause being a mom, I can't read stuff like that. I did read the rest of thread and see she was in the foster system. She was probably abused and has known issues. So even more reason not to leave an infant in her care. The blame is mostly on the adults who left an infant alone with her. Just a tragedy all around due to negligence on the adults part.

Haven’t read the thread yet so it’s probably already been mentioned, but some kids can have antisocial personality disorder (sociopathy/psychopathy) from a very young age. They lack empathy and normal emotional will torture small animals etc. But they are also extremely skilled at lying and manipulating, so it can take some time before they’re found out.
I think the movie “We need to talk about Kevin” is about this topic but I haven’t seen it.
I studied that type of personality disorder for a while and it’s terrifying stuff. One flag in adults is being extremely charming and charismatic, which reels innocent victims in.
