Tough population to treat, given the relative young age, and the amount of muscle surrounding their shoulder girdle.

You can see DCO and some impingement secondary to AC pathology, but it’s usually not overhead press, it’s mostly caused by bench press with relatively close grip and pretty heavy weight.
That's why I bench with a wide grip, it saves my shoulders, plus a narrow bench is just delts and triceps work, very little chest involved

Yes, upright rows are probably my favorite shoulder exercise. When I do them I use dumbbells and stop at the nipple line. That seems to be the safest way to do them.

I got nothing against direct shoulder work, but when the delts start to look huge compared to the chest, then there's a problem

Just because you can supposedly do 60s doesn’t mean 45lbs isn’t considered heavy by most peoples standards for a working weight. It’s definitely considered up there for side raises, especially considering my body weight. Same for the other guy saying he would do 40s. When you jump in and go thats not heavy I can do 60s you come off as having an ego problem which is probably why you are red. As far as having delts that look too big for the chest I never had that problem, my shoulders are a stronger point for me than my chest but it never looked disproportionate.

That’s a variation of the most muscular pose that people do to highlight their deltoid. That is why Kevin Levrone and Kai Greene would do it. I personally like the crab variation with locked hands because it highlights my traps which are my best muscle group.

You are lucky, I have always struggled with delts that are too dominant compared to my chest and arms that are too dominant compared to my chest but I've been able to bring my chest up thanks to heavy wide grip bench presses, it was the only thing that worked for my chest

I ain't gonna lie, it was in the 70s when you would see bodybuilders with monster chests, then in the 90s bodybuilders had monster delts and lagging chests

i don't go above 20-25s

tend to stick with 15s

whats fun is doing 50 straight reps with 15s and doing reverse dropsets by going up in weight, lowering reps. total delt destruction
