Probably just me then, but is that not the chick from that Birdbox film? I thought it was Ana in that film until I googled it.

Overall, I liked the movie. My problem is there were a lot of story gaps. We know nothing about "The Fall" or the sky city. For a 300-year old cyborg why did Alita get dumped into garbage 300 years later? Why does Alita not remember anything? I felt like I needed to know more about Vector and his criminal organization. So there was a war between Mars and Earth? What happened? Just so many unanswered questions.

The character of Alita was fantastic. Her bug eyes did not bother me.

I felt they should have fleshed out Dr. Ido and his ex-wife more. Should have gave background between their relationship and their paraplegic daughter.

Just more stuff on Dr. Ido could have been fleshed out. More on Vector, his business and crimes.(This could have been like 5th Element)

The Motorball made me think Daft Punk was gonna DJ and Tron would come out. Could've been an R rated violent Tron.

It looks like they are following how Alita was presented and it is not simple. So NO> EVERYTHING WAS NOT GOING TO BE UNDERSTOOD AT YOUR VERY FIRST DAY . This first story was to hook you. It absolutely hooked me.

You want CG to look human than you do it like they did with Tarkin in Rouge One.

This movie is banned in my family. I'd rather my kids watch hardcore midget porn than this.

According to an anime fan friend, that's anime style storytelling.

He told me that they are like the seriesLost... A mystery is presented at the start, and then the characters past and story questions are answered as the series progresses. (Though it seems that mysteries are sometimes never fully explained, as series are sometimes left with open questions, and it's left to the audience to create their own explanations.)

It's a lot different to typical western story telling, where mystery isn't really tolerated well (IMO). Western people tend to like systematic explanations for things (which IMO is why a lot of people were pissed at the vague explanations ofLost, they wanted things systematically explained.)
