"you are usually just regurgitating someone else's opinion, something someone else shoved in your head, and there is NO point in getting defensive over things you yourself cannot verify or prove, and that people have incentives to lie and mislead, whether they actually do or not, it's important to recognize that, and we shouldn't turn a blind eye to people who were harmed by following mainstream advice and shouldn't be dismissive of everyone else"
is enough to bring the redditor style "BUT sCiEnCe maaannn!!" posts in droves. Fukn ridiculous. I wonder if I'll see you all at the next blue hair feminazi rally too.
This 18 year old ******* literally got vaccinated to prove a point and because of his ideology. There was no health risk as an unvaccinated 18 year old but he did it only because his ideological position has him consumed this much. That's just pathetic. Doing something that serves no benefit to you at your age just because you wanna humiliate your mother who, whether out of ignorance or not, was doing what she thought was in your best interest. If someone being this petty doesn't bother you then idk what to even say.

The point I've tried to make is that none of us know if vaxxing is safe, and being a useful idiot parroting other people opinions is unhelpful. Take each vaccination on a case by case basis, weigh the pros and cons, and make your own decision.

the scientist in me at this point needs an answer for that phenomenon to be explained. Someone needs to explain why there is so much overwhelming anecdotal evidence for these. That was only one example of a whole mountain of such examples and stories.
My whole point is to expose the fact that there is a legit tradeoff and that its not a no brainer. there is some valid fear there and those people are bullied by people who dont value individuality. its a Cold War of world views happening under the guise of vax vs antivax

“Growing evidence suggests that autism arises from interactions between a child’s genes and the environment. This study measured factors that may control interactions between genes and the environment, especially the microbiome,” said Dr. Hicks.
To me this sounds like there is a possibility that some children have the genes and perhaps something in vaccines is the trigger environment. There are actual lab tests (very new) which are about 85% effective for diagnosing autism (or at least the genetic predisposition). Interestingly as far as I can tell they are only being used from 18 months up.
https://scienceblog.com/504274/saliv...utistic-peers/
https://www.sciencedaily.com/release...0619122434.htm
So would it be so nuts to choose to NOT VACCINATE your child until they are over 18 months old? To instead just take a chance on isolating them from disease during that time? As in maybe babies shouldn't be in a daycare facility with older children, but should be kept at home or in babies only child care?
Or maybe if the whole vaccine schedule could be slowed way down? Or, if there is a single ingredient problem maybe we could eliminate that from vaccines?
Posted this before asking another miscer who said he works generally in the field and asked what he thought. If there was any reply I missed it.
https://jbhandleyblog.com/home/2018/...ernational2018
Says the problem in vaccines is aluminum:
“…while the aluminium content of each of the 5 brains [of people with autism] was shockingly high it was the location of the aluminium in the brain tissue which served as the standout observation…The new evidence strongly suggests that aluminium is entering the brain in ASD [autism spectrum disorders] via pro-inflammatory cells which have become loaded up with aluminium in the blood and/or lymph, much as has been demonstrated for monocytes at injection sites for vaccines including aluminium adjuvants.”
I don't know if it is true/proven.Oh, and actual adult autists kind of hate Autism Speaks.
This is an interesting chunk from farther down in the link about the theory that autism is a type of immunity dis-regulation and that immune activation in the mother while the baby is in utero may be what sets up a child to be susceptible:
The “patches of disorganization” paper is actually further evidence implicating immune activation and therefore vaccines. Immune activation experiments have shown that immune activation/cytokines causes disruption of neuron layers. So a vaccine could definitely do this. I believe that autism-associated differences in the prenatal period are simply indicators that the baby is particularly susceptible to immune activation injury. Immune activation works like this: each time there is an activation event, the immune system becomes more sensitive and reactive to immune stimulus. So, an activation “hit” during gestation can render the baby more susceptible to immune activation injury postnatally. This increased reactivity is known to occur with microglia in the brain (microglia are immune cells in the brain). its called “microglial priming”. Once microglia are primed by immune activation, they become hyperreactive for a long time, perhaps a lifetime.
And the developmental stages that overlap with the current vaccine schedule:

In reality, measles isn't just a deadly disease, it also ravages the immune system, leaving those who contract it susceptible to other infections for years. This is a key reason mortality rates for other causes dropped with the introduction of the measles vaccine: when people stopped getting measles, it solved the common problem of people chitting themselves to death from otherwise routine cases of diarrhea afterwards, too.
