def no longer heavy weights , as with diet change, you will have to change the way you lift

30 yr old checking in and have seen my age 18-28 gains just fall off to where I'm back toDYELstatus
To be brutally honest, I haven't changed my diet or routine much even though I'm lifting heavier and heavier weights. Still the mass is falling away.
EDIT: also
-hairline is now a sharp M on forehead
-skin has texture of moon's surface along with wrinkles kicking in
-teeth slightly more yellow
-no more baby teddy bear nose, now looks like tucan beak
-lastly, I SWEAR TO GOD I've lost 2 inches of height since 18.

Hell I'd say 99% of all men under the age of 35 don't have a physique like that. Maybe 1 in 100, that's it.

No current injuries or tendinitis or anything.
However I do feel strongly that the older you get, the more you should focus on lower weight and higher reps to protect your joints and tendons. If you’re going all out powerlifting and trying to max out at 40+, then yeah eventually that will destroy your joints.
But to just have a good body for aesthetic and health reasons, you’re fine with lighter weight for full sets and your body can look and feel great in your forties.

Just get on TRT
Test levels declining is known to have a number of unhealthy effects too so pick your poison. As long as you aren’t abusing it and staying in normal range TRT you’re fine. It’s probably healthier than deteriorating slowly.

"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."

God damn cope patrol roll call ITT.
The only thing it takes is proper nutrition and training. Period.
Environmental factors and injuries come and go. Adjust your nutrition and training efficiently enough and stay consistent. This never fails no matter what percentages you try to quote.

The only thing i noticed i lost comparing to 10 years ago is my reflexes and explosiveness.
I can still run, still jump (can still touch a 10 foot basketball rim @ 5'10). I use to hoop all the phucking time back in the day and i was agile, jumping around, never getting tired. I haven't played ball yet this year but last year i was playing and the sudden moves from offense to defense i wasn't as fast or explosive as much. There's like a short delay. Now i know what real NBA players go through lol. Father time is undefeated.
But other than that, i still have my health, and i eat complete garbage. I still never get sick. Joints still fine. Still have all my hair. Skin looks great (i get carded for lottery tickets).
Only thing that really sucks is that i can't gain weight for chit. And i found old pictures of me from 8-10 years ago when i used to work out everyday, i looked bigger then. No wonder everyone has asked me if i lost weight. Which i did. But that's because i like to run a lot.
Idk anymore. I'm 37 btw.

Some strong negativity in this thread. Entered the 30+ club recently. Yes, we all grow old. Yes, one day we'll meet with the grim reaper. How many fuarkin times does it need to be said? I probably won't even make it to old age cause I'm more interested in enjoying what I do have.
Had my cavities filled when I was 14, the filling was mostly gone by early 20s. Last year, a part of my tooth broke off, now every time I get some food stuck in there my gums hurt. Have to go to dentist soon, but I'll still eat sweets, because fuk it.
Have strange palpitations at times and have had lower back pain since early 20s. Have chronic sinus issues since that time. Have difficulty breathing through my nose often, especially during cold weather. Always have a runny nose during winter. Can rarely taste food properly.
Have had hemorrhoids every now and then since 16. Don't give a chit, will still keep doing what I do. Pain and suffering is a small part of life, if I let it get to me then might as well LDAR for real.
If it ever comes down to it, I told my family that I'd rather they take me off life support than to live in a coma or a vegetative state.
I only lift and exercise for health reasons. Not to look aesthetic or to pull sloots.

1. Do you burn as many calories per day as when you were young? (Same activity level).

3. Are you consuming more daily calories then when you were young?
With most of my peers I've observed their daily activity level dropped (burning less over-all calories). Their stress levels increased (Wife/kids/day to day stuff). And their caloric intake increased. Obviously with all of that comes increased bodyfat, increased tiredness/sluggishness, and decreased testosterone. I know quite a few older guys (40s-50s) that are still in great shape. 12-15% body fat. Still carrying plenty muscle mass and healthy. Its all bout consistent nutrition and consistent training.

In my 30s and I feel great. When I was in my teens and 20s I had such a hard time trying to gain weight. Now it's a lot easier.
I am bigger, stronger and way better looking in my 30s.
The one thing I've never understood is how people can lose so much muscle. Do you guys just not work out for years?

100% true OP. Its depressing srs.
My gains have been going downhill since 28-29 years old. I think it had alot to do with competitions I did and maintaining extremely low BF, but never recovered.
In my late 20s, I was 165-170lbs @ 5'9 squatting 405 for 3-4 reps. my flat bench was 265x4 on my last set (did 5 sets) Now Im doing around 335x3 squat on my last set and 235x3-4 bench.
I remember 315x10 used to be almost a warmup for squat, 10th rep was fairly easy. Now I can barely get 7 or 8 fresh with 100% effort.
(never stopped lifting, diet is 100% on point, etc)

I haven't made any gains since 2012. I was 198 lbs with visible abs at that time but no matter how long i lift i can't get bigger. Right now i'm like 193 but look softer for some reason.
