Well, I think 11 weeks of night shooting in Belfast were probably not very cheap, and thats only the fighting in Ep3. But yeah, the actors pay certainly went up, unless they had long-term contracts.
Honest question, do you genuinely believe the events that transpired made any sense at all in that scene and the one where they're discussing the battle strategy?

Varys clearly mentioning the Iron fleet
Dany or her fleet not noticing captain povertybeards fleet until he lunched the spears
the ballistic spears going 3/3 to hit a dragon flying however high it was in the air
Dany not thinking that it would be a good idea to flank the iron fleet or even as she was flying head on to light their asses on fire


Please dont give me "hurr its a Tv show with dragons and magic!!"

You cant expect to shyt on peoples intelligence and expect them to be fine with the writing decisions that have been made this season especially when the first 7 seasons were so good and arguably GOAT tier TV

Things I had issues with:
- the scorpions being waaaay too devastating, the way the ballistas are set up, they cannot generate that fukin force (don't care about piercing dragons, but annihilating ships like that?
- the iron fleet allegedly "hiding" behind some cliffs or whatever - unless Dany was flying all the time at 100 feet she should have noticed a fukin fleet
- Dany not circling the fleet in a safe distance and fuking them up, because I doubt they would shoot the scorpions through their own masts
- Dany not going up and attacking straight down, no way do the scorpions have clearance to point upwards

So, as you can see I had a lot of issues with the scene, but this is not a fukin show on kinetic/naval warfare and not a science show either. I want the plot to move along and recognize their did it in a lazy way, but am glad its coming to a conclusion eventually.

I think he meant the whole "Bronn rode from KL to Winterfell, got the timing right to arrive just after the big battle vs the NK and somehow managed to sneak into Winterfell all by himself all the while waving the crossbow."

Also the part where Jaime and Tyrion didn't call for guards to apprehend and question him on KL's defenses after getting almost killed and just went with the "you'll get Highgarden" bs.

Weeeeell, lets start off with: yes, the show has weird/bad timing issues. But saying the Bronn had convenient timing ... he could have simply been nearby and waited out what will happen in Winterfell. If the Wights win and kill Jaime/Tyrion (and everyone else), he can simply ride south. Why risk his neck?

As for why they didn't call the guards: first off, Bronn would have probably slaughtered everyone except maybe Brienne in Winterfell one-on-one, secondly both Tyrion and Jaime actually do owe him, maybe its their sense of "Lannisters always pay their debts"?

I can respect that. We''re coming from the same place although you're willing to defend the show/writers much more than I am. I was in the minority that enjoyed season 7 although there was an obvious fall off and defended the first 2 episodes of season 8. Episode 3 was fine outside of the horrible battle tactics and the NK/WK end as I was hoping/expecting an explanation to the end of the NK in the last few episodes but it doesnt seem like we're going to get that. This last episode is where I drew the line tho.

Ill still obviously watch the last 2 episodes as theres no point to back out now but this has been a huge let down. This series had potential to pass the Wire for GOAT show imo but they royally fuked up the ending. Unfortunate old man Georgie won't finish the books so that I can read them. No point in me starting to read them if theres no end since from what Ive seen on message boards is that the show and books are pretty different
