After the way these last few episodes have happened, I'm starting to suspect that they rushed drafting up a conclusion that they could crank out in as short a time as humanly possible, then began writing up their new HBO show Confederacy, announced it during "post production for special effects," fully expecting everyone wouldlost their sh*tabout the "excitingnewseries from the creators of Game of Thrones!", received the rightfully opposite reception to the news, and then began sending their resumes out to Disney since their writing quality hit Disney tier lows.

As far as I'm concerned, the Night King walking to Bran faded to black like the Sopranos because afterwards has been nothing but appallingly awful. I cannot think of a single fan theory or prediction that I've read which would have been worse than what's happening to the series at this point.Right?

I can't say that I'm shocked that they're heading for the Mad Queen direction with Daenerys because for several seasons now, her behavior was either an absence of decent direction and writing, or indicative of her truly being loony tunes crazy. Hell, I've said it before: change the triumphant anthems played alongside many of her actions with dark, Cersei style themes and it would completely flip the perception of her.

However, like numerous aspects of the show towards later seasons I could also accept chalking all of that towards the schizoid writing that favors character actions following the plot they had in store rather than working the other way around. The last genuinely awesome moment with her was when she freed the Unsullied and turned them against their former masters in a truly momentous coup, whereas latter seasons screamed out their transition to conflating "strong women" with "Badass."

What I find most disappointing with yet another character assassination in the form of Daenerys, the irate Queen, is how they are intentionally catapulting her sanity off the edge of reason for the sake of drama as opposed to anything resembling natural regression that we could buy for even a second.

This is the result of showrunners who don't value, let alone understandthemes, as the recent episodes were displaying a substantial amount ofgrowthfor Daenerys. She had the Iron Throne firmly in her grasp after arriving in Westeros, but she put aside her life's ambition when Jon requested aid in the fight for all of the living, a decision she madebeforehe pledged his loyalty towards her and her cause.

The Night King did not sit on a throne she desired, but the army of the dead posed a universal threat that she was wise enough to not ignore like Cersei, and the decision to take this courseshouldhave been the moment of revelation for her character that ruling was not the be all, end all matter. Rather than be humbled and understand that in order to break the "wheel," Daenerys would see how the Iron Throne was the still the center, and absolute power was not hers or anyone else's to take.

Dany was always inexperienced, naive, and emotionally charged, but instead of allowing her character to mature, they doubled down by making her crazy ex-girlfriend crazy and so driven by a jealous rage to snatch the throne that she lost yet another "child," arguably her only true friend, and what we can only assume was the remaining bit of sanity preventing her from proving Cersei right in an attack on King's Landing. For her constant talk of breaking the wheel and ushering in change, her direction is now headed towards her becoming precisely what she has spoken against because the writers think making her behave like a petulant teenager is somehowmoreenthralling than characters learning and growing to overcome challenges.One of the most vital moments of character development and a true test of family amongst the Starks, once again relegated to a cut away, off screen conversation.

For Jon's entire life, he has felt like the black sheep of his family, shunned and disdained by Catelyn, and yet he was always in his heart Ned's son.

After Raisin Bran and Sam reveal Jon's Targaryen ancestry, he suddenly forgets that LyannaStarkis still his mother, but more importantly, Ned took him as his son, raising and loving him as such regardless of his true parentage. Robb, Arya, Sansa, Bran, and Rickon allloved himas a brother, and Jon even reconciled with Theon to tell him he was both a Greyjoyanda Stark, in spite of having no true blood connection. How is Jon struggling with so muchlessof a problem than Theon, despite having never even betrayed his family or have any cause to doubt them?

And let's not even get into how Jon seemingly wants to shirk his entire life and connection to what is still half of him in favor of accepting that he is a Targaryenafterboning down with his Targ aunt; Bran and Sam told you were aTargaryen, and only half, Jon, not a bloody Lannister.

As with Daenerys, the writers threw away his entire arc in exchange for a last couple episodes of soap opera bullsh*t.

What is with captain phasma and arya suddenly getting dick now? The fuglys are smashing this season.


What was up with that exchange between sansa and the hound? Does sansa want his dick too?

They're an incredibly easy read, albeit very long. However they're significantly better than the show.

He's 7 feet tall. All women are curious.

The hound was used as a foil there. We are meant to see the fundamental change in Sansa (the 'you've changed') and her acceptance of it. All so when they show us later that (my personal theory) Sansa leaked Dany's travel plans to Cersei somehow to try to get her killed, we all go 'oh yeah, they told us she changed'.

There's no other real explanation as to why Euron teleported/hid so well. This would explain Sansa's smile to Jaime when Brienne tells him about the dead dragon and decimated Dany army: she's smiling even though she wants Cersei dead because she wants Dany's hooks in Jon gone, particularly after the reveal.

Jon isn't going to the throne he is headed north after the war.

Nah there's no real credence to that. It's more that some people are movie stars and some are TV show actors. Mark Paul Gosselar was in plenty of tv shows. He's just not a movie star. Think about all the guys they try to force feed us as movie stars (Sam Worthington, the guy from die hard russia, Taylor Kitsch). There's a certain intangible quality to being able to carry a movie and some people just don't have it.

This is who the showrunners are writing the story for now, not the long-time fans. It's obvious that they don't care about the previous 7 years, character arcs, they don't understand the characters or what the series has been about from the start. They are simply water-cooler writers aiming for shock value (not much of that anymore other than how shockingly ****ty the story has gotten).

Any number of long-time fans could have come up with a better outline and dialogue to close out the season. Most would have out-right said, that you can't wrap this up with 1 6 episode season and do the series justice.

and bronn has the survival skills. he's been past the wall already. he's a mercenary/sellsword. he gets paid to find people and kill them. and he's clearly a professional killer. as proven many times. doesn't flinch at fighting the hound or going against the kingsguard.

even if they were in winterfell though, winterfell's gates are open. and they don't know him. they could think he's a northener. or a villager.

At this point, people want to nitpick and hate because the series isn't going how they predicted. This show NEVER had 100% perfect storytelling, idc what all these people continue to keep parroting.

the man is one of the most capable and realistic characters in that world. fought alone in the battle of the blackwater, and played the key part of success in that battle, survived and saved jaime in the dothraki attack, also hitting a dragon with the trebutchet, survived the ambush battle in the mountains of the vale, been beyond the wall for "work" and survived

Main issue with the scene was how Tyrion and Jaime didn't call for guards after Bronn left the room and was alone against a whole castle full with ppl.

Either stabbed like Robb Stark's pregnant wife in the Red Wedding ... or given she has a Maester as her Hand, maybe she has some sort of poison vial on herself to not give Dany/Jon/Jaime the gratification of killing her.
