I don't fully agree with the argument because society has changed so much where women don't need men's resources as much. But there's some merit to it, and it's never as simple as just saying societal rules were all terrible and oppressive.

I'm not judging at all. I simply gave my definition of what I think a FWB's is. I've had a couple in my past when I felt I needed a break and wasn't looking for a relationship at the time. Men and women both like sex and instead of the casual hookups the FWB worked for me at the time.
