I remember with a lot of police shootings people would say why didn't they just shoot them in the legs?

This is why, zombie mode activated.

That dude should 100% be dead right now. Hopefully he learned.

I like that they backed up some, and tried to get him to drop the knife

Maybe the only video I've seen where I've had to comment that the cop should have shot sooner. I think back peddling until just before the busy road woulda been the right call... then held ground, announced a final warning, then if he didn't stop, start ripping bullets into him. At that point it would be clear that it's a lost cause.

Wonder what scum bag dude was on.
the cop kicked the knife away and heard be holstered his gun to prevent the perp from grabbing it

Also, the cops should have stayed side-by-side... splitting up the way they did isn't a good idea in a situation like this.

When they guy charges, the 2nd cop becomes useless, as he can't fire because of line of sight issues (he can't shoot because his buddy cop is in the line of fire)

So standing shoulder to shoulder woulda been the better call

Realistically, in 99% of police shootings, going for center mass is going to be the right call. You can't have people that are questionable shots trying to shoot like John Wick or whatever, it's just going to lead to more stray rounds. Also hitting a moving target with stress is hard as fuk, I'm a pretty good shot and I'd probably just go for center mass in the same situation, still has the highest probability of success IMO, the drug and armor drill is just another technique.
Interesting, repped on RC. Love reading about tactics and stuff like this.

Don’t blame the Cops at all. It’s one thing being trained. Subconsciously you know there is no real threat. Then you’re out in the situation. No one wanted to kill him. I relate to that. I fumble with my keys when I’m in a rush, the composure they showed was impressive. You can’t be trained perfectly. Situations are fluid. They shot him and he kept going. You don’t expect that.

You can’t just go by a book. There are too many variables. That’s why I’m not a fan of people getting on “he should have done this”. That ending, that was instinctual. It was a kill shot im sure he never thought he’d have to make when he pulled up.

I commend all of them for handling it how they did. 100% that guy was on drugs. Bath salts are the worst with that zombie no pain ****. Watch some videos on that stuff. It’s nuts. Scary, in a way as well.

The cop spent 4 minutes giving this guy warnings. I would have given him 3 warnings and then lit his ass up.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.

They really should have put him down half way down that road. Shooting dude in a busy street wasnt the best idea but at the same time you could tell they were doing everything they possibly could to avoid firing at him. ****ty situation. The cop was literally begging him to not keep moving.

What an embarrassment. That officer should be fired immediately. Putting other lives at danger because of his incompetence. Should have shot that POS in the head 3 minutes earlier.

This is how it’s done. Cop in the OP should take notice. Clear warming to drop the weapon. Didn’t do it. Shoot until dead. Calm and collected.
