She just says oops and she wont do it again. We told her just go... too much paperwork and hassle.

We had a Samsung washer recalled because they randomly explode. The matching dryer needed a idler pulley replaced like 4 months in because they used a chit tier part (since updated). That dryer died completely about 20 months in. No heat. No spin. No broken belt. Just garbage. At our last house we had a Samsung fridge that lasted over 10 years. We figured we'd go with one again - the icemaker is garbage. We've had a repair guy out three times for it in the first year.

There's a class action lawsuit for all their french door models with ice makers. There's another one for all side by sides for some coil thing. I think both are still open - the icemaker one is definitely still ongoing.


I don't consider phones or tvs major appliances. But there is better hardware in those segments, too.

when i bought my house the samsung french door fridge came with it. i can confirm ice maker is horrible. nothing but a headache. had to replace it eventually.

It was pretty sweet. We had a good fridge and a cheap basic 'garage fridge' style. Then we moved, asked sellers to leave their even nicer fridge which they did, buyers did not ask us to leave ours so we took it with. Fridges in kitchen, garage, and basement FTW

Is panic buying over? Thread dead again?

My only panic buy was a G17.5. Trading my G19.3 for a Gen 4 this weekend, and hopefully selling my P10C. Probably turn that into new sights for the 26,19, and 17. Also wouldn't mind selling the P-09 and getting another G17. CZ is cool and all but I feel like I'm more comfortable with everything being the same, and if I'm going all in on something it's going to be Glock. Just need to simplify and accessorize.

Under reported?

If a patient dies from something other than COVID, but simply had COVID at the time of death, they're classified as having died from COVID. NYC literally added 4k deaths when they never even tested the patients.

I still stand by what I said regarding the historical perspective of this. This will go down as an overreaction.

Yes, under reported due to lack of tests to use.

Also, average deaths over this time from prior years + official covid deaths = smaller number than our actual deaths during this time.

Your mind would be obliterated if you looked up how we calculate an estimate of flu "deaths" each year lol

This entire thing is wild to me. Every single year we could prevent hundreds of thousands of deaths if we placed minor inconveniences on society or spent ungodly amounts of money. Yet we do neither. Why? Why is this so much different from the causes of death we could prevent that undoubtedly kill far more every single year?

WITH extreme measures and under-reported deaths, covid is still literally the #1 cause of death in the united states.

Yes, we could save a lot of deaths if we, say, put a mandatory 10 year prison sentence on smoking or using tobacco products in general and ruthlessly enforced the contraband rules in prisons to keep them out of there as well. Go ahead and put the 10 year instant prison sentence on hard drugs too. Well, that may or may not reduce deaths. But since smoking and obesity are top contributors to 'preventable' stuff...that is where we would start. There's that whole prohibition thing though where the organized and unorganized crime that would result might actually make it worse?

We could also save a lot of deaths if we imprisoned people for morbid obesity and forced them to diet down.

More realistically, we could save a lot of deaths (though not nearly as many as the above) if we put people in prison for speeding, reckless driving, tailgating, distracted driving, DUI. That one might actually be worth considering, but covid has killed more in 1 month than all car accidents do in an entire year so

Taking a snapshot of two months to make a claim is pretty disingenuous. Also, 40% of the deaths are in NYC, a failure of that state and city's governance, which widely skews these figures even more than they already are.

Not sure why you took my "minor inconvenience" and "spending mass amounts of money" to Farley-level extremes of imprisoning people.

The fact remains, if we wanted to prevent death (and a hell of a lot more of it than COVID) we could very easily do it. But we don't. For some reason this is different and I haven't heard a good argument as to why that is.

After thinking it over for a while my conclusion was simply "I'd much rather have a Glock 19"

The different sizes, different capacities, difference calibers (cartridges)...nobody else even comes close. Single stack, sub compact, compact, full size, long slide, tactical/practical....380, 9x19, .40 S&W, .45 ACP, .45 GAP, .357 Sig, 10mm...it's all there...they all shoot the 'same'...magazines of the same caliber (well, .357/.40 go together)(double stack) work in the smaller guns...nobody else offers that
