Once again your going to pay taxes to the federal govt. The federal govt chooses what to do with the money at that point its out of your hands.

So how would it negatively effect you? Your tax rate is still the same. You would pay taxes regardless.

way too hypothetical....as if it's a magic wand.

No on principal. Giving money to people who didn't experience the hardship paid for by people who didn't commit the crime.

You want to equalise the classes then give money to the lower class citizens, regardless of race. Because that's the whole argument isn't it? More black people have lower socio-economic status. Guess what, we already have that. It's called welfare.
No specifically the decendants of slavery ONLY who's ancestors had to deal with
Slavery,
reconstruction,

civil rights
police brutality and incarceration

and in 2020 are still feeling the negative effects of these policies.

Don't ask me what negative effects that conversation is too advanced for the Misc.
Most miscers wouldn't be able to comprehend or have an actual intelligent conversation about the subject.

I don't think anyone is telling a black person who wants to be an American to go back where they came from. I think its a lack of understanding (because i too don't understand) why there are some black people who make it sound like they wish they were in Africa rather than America. That their African culture is being appropriated. That they seem to identify more as an African than an American even though a lot of them have probably never stepped foot in Africa.

I have 50% german heritage and i have never once thought I was a German American or thought to pronounce my Germaness to everyone. I'm simply an American, and that's what i would consider you to be is simply an American.

how do you get that #?

Also, how about native people who had their land stolen? by that logic they should get it all back? do they get any reparations?

curious

edit: where is the cutoff for people who have to pay? for example if your family came to the states in the 80s, 90s or whatever, do they have to pay? if so, why?

Yes they also should get reparations, it's time to redistribute the resources amongst the population. Towards a more fair and prosper society for all.

okay so how do you calculate what they lost?

and you didnt answer my other question - who exactly has to pay? why would families that came to america later have to pay? for example, my family came from europe to canada in the 80s. if my parents happened to go to the states why would we be accountable?

Rich people who have more than they need is their answer. It always will be on any matter of economics when speaking to idealistic leftist types.

Why should I pay reparations to anyone for anything I or my relatives had noting to do with.

Off topic but this reminds me of these students in my 3rd period senior year of Holocaust class. There were 3 of them, and would always have to find some way to reference their German heritage, or correct people on German words. Aside from that, they didn't know a lick of German and have never visited the country. Was cringe as fuk.

i'm white/filipino, with my white side being Scottish and Norwegian. i don't consider myself a Scottish/Norwegian American, nor do i consider myself a filipino american. i'm just american

i served with africans that got their citizenship while in uniform and they never considered themselves african american; they considered themselves american. they even laughed at the term because they are more african than african americans. just my opinion, but we as a country will never be united as long as we continue to hyphenate our americaness.
