this!

Father might be kicking him out due to the kid being mischievous in one of many possible ways.

I don't think Westerners have a mindset to kick their kids out - all of my friends who are from London and work in London live with parents and contribute to chores/bills.

That way, saving for a deposit for a flat is much faster because a tiny bit of your annual salary is spent compared to full-blown rent. Just throwing money away, really.

It definitely is. But shouldn't define that person.

Memcop, I literally had 3 days off in 2019. and 1 day off in 2020. I put in the work, and am the farthest thing from entittled.

That's from a former manchild rotter. All it took is me finding my purpose and something to work for. That's not easy to find for many young men now days, you should know that.

Honestly if the mom is telling the truth here (kid spends time studying, wants to delay college to figure out what he wants to do first) I think she’s in the right. Kicking your kid out just because they’re an “adult” is stupid. Family should always stick together.

Because I believe the issue is with young men, finding purpose and goals.

Young men are simply misguided, I was one of them.

They need help finding their path, not being put down constantly by the world around them. I always thought I was just a loser, thought about suicide more than most people, etc.

But turns out I wasn't a loser, I just needed an opportunity to prove myself. And for me, it just happened a lot later than most.

And I agree. I wish I had some kind of mentor figure or guidance to kick my ass in the right direction. But most young people don't have that. For me, personally I think having the right person to kick my ass (for my own good) would've been a tremendous help.

Unfortunately, for most people, the people kicking our asses are people trying to drag us down into further negativity.

I still live at home actually. But I work 7 days, and literally only go home to sleep.

I live in Hawaii where a decent 1 bedroom is $2k/month. Even a police officer like you would struggle to rent here with a officer's salary.

I don't care what the standards are, I make $20k/month and it's growing every month. My only standard is making atleast $20k/month, now days.

My brother in law is HPD. It's not as hard as you think. He bought a home there when he was a rookie.
I was also hired but declined and went back home. He does just fine there.

Plus I doubt this Dave dude is an actual cop for what that's worth. Anyone who's a misc cop or even a fake one gets known in the LE thread as either or.

Unless I'm mistaken. I think hes the racist poster from R&P.

This, wouldn't even consider "forcing" my kids out if they want to stay until they're done with school. Unfortunately the environment is such that it takes much longer to be prepared to leave a home unless you want to saddle yourself with substantial debt.

Not a fake cop, not a racist either. Miscers will call me racist but....they're miscers, they call everyone racist.

And I don't post in the LE thread, because.....why should I?

But if you think I'm lying, then I don't know what to tell you. I'm working another 12hr day today on labor day, so I'm gonna make over 16brs of comp time today.

Mom is right, the dad is most probably a broke mfkr (carsalesman) and afraid of potential financial burden but trying to pass it as tough love.

Yes, but last year at this time I was in the red. I own a new business.

I work every day, all day so I only go home to sleep. I don't need to pay someone else $2k/month for somewhere to sleep, I'd rather give half of that to my retired parents (for now)

and thanks for the angry rep

Just returned the favor, and you're telling me that you can't find a place in all of Hawaii, that won't charge you 2k a month for rent?

And if you're making 20k a month, that would be nothing.

I mean maybe we should indeed take his views about how to treat 17-year-olds more seriously. Considering his mental capabilities never seem to have improved since his late teenage years, he might have more insight into a teenager's mind than most people ITT.

Honestly, $2k isn't a huge deal, but I wouldn't say it's nothing. Last month I spent $30k on business expenses, so all these $2k, $3k, $4k expenses add up to quite a bit.

If i'm spending $2k on a place, I want value out of it. I already have somewhere comfortable to sleep that I don't need to pay $2k for.

Incels itt hate women so much they think they are always wrong.

Nothing more retarded than forcing a kid into college right after college. And if it is exactly like how the mom told us that dad is a retarded kunt.

Then again there could be a story that she didnt tell us so who knows.

Edit: learn from Jews a bit. They support their own children instead of bashing them/ kicking them out without turning them into basement dwellers. They pay no 'student' loans or whatever loans and make the money grow within the family instead of giving it all to the government.

And from the Jewish community that I know from my city 30-40ish dudes living with their parents is not frowned upon. Lots of Jewish family mansions here where at least 3 generations live together.
