The Friday options expired EOD. To have a shot at maximum squeeziness, they needed to close over $320, which they did. The short attack in the afternoon was not very strong, but the battle to get it under $320 in the last 15 minutes or so was absolutely nasty.

So if the squeeze is going to kick off, it'll likely play out over a period of a few days as the hedgies line up the cash.

The short squeeze doesn't happen until the HF-s start closing their positions(buying back the stock). Until then, they pay high interest on the shorts.

It can happen any time soon but if you look at short interest cover stats on any free website on google, they haven't moved much yet. Once this percentage starts moving, the squeeze begins.

This will sound noobish, but am I too late to buy?

Similarly to the US, a lot of UK apps either stopped trading or didn’t allow new registrations. One app of mine has finally cleared account verification so I can start trading. GME stock price is $316 but obviously the market is closed. I’ve got money I’m not going to cry about losing, so would it be possible to buy now and lock in the current price so that when market opens Monday it triggers the buys at that price? Or would it be better to wait until Monday and buy after market opens? (Surely it’ll do what it did today and surge up initially right?)

I normally deal with crypto instead.

Not true.

GOP and "conservative" are not equivalent. The Rockefeller republicans are the ones who are in cahoots with the democRATs.

Conservatives are of the middle class. We want to "conserve" the institutions of western civilization because who know great things are hard to build, but easy to destroy. Conservative values are traditional values that allowed our civilization to prosper. We are pro-small business. We are pro-individual liberty. We are pro-stable society. We are pro-national pride. We are the "party" that salutes the flag, respects our elders, and wants to government to stay out of our lives.

We were in the GOP because we had no other home, and for a long time, we controlled the GOP. But we don't any longer. It's not our home. Ever since the 2008 crash where middle class voters were hung out to dry, but "too big to fail" banks were bailed out during the housing crisis, we've increasingly seen DC as a 1-party town that doesn't represent us at all. That's what the Tea Party was a response to. That's what Trump was a response to. The GOP is not a party of conservatives anymore. It's the party of fools like Mitt Romney and Liz Cheney. Trump was the last gasp of a dying republic. Whatever you think of him personally (and what you know of him is largely a caricature created by a media that is 99% hostile to him), he's right on most of the big populism issues. That's why the elites couldn't allow a 2nd term for him. BTW, the elites were nearly as hostile to Bernie. Bernie is a true believer. A real communist. I loathe him and everything he stands for, but to the extent that he scares the elite as well, he and Trump are 2 sides of the same coin. Outsiders who are not controlled by or doing the bidding of the elite. Or at least that was true until the bought Bernie off to convince him to drop out of the primaries and hand the nomination to the chosen elite candidate. It turns out, even communists have their price.

I like the system as intended by our founders. In fact, I love it. What we have today is NOT that system and Biden has spent 9 days trying to push us even further from it at lightning speed. If you think Biden isn't part of the elite, you need to take the red pill asap. He's a bumbling fool with alzheimers who has created a cabinet that marches in lockstop with the global left elite who run most of the rest of the west right now. One of his idiot cabinet appointees just announced that the central aim of every department of government from this day forward would be "equity" for crying out loud. The primary goal of NASA? Of the Pentagon? Of the Treasury? Would be equity??? Huh?

Equality means same opportunity. Equity means same outcomes. In other words, government is going to pick and choose the winners now. That, in a nutshell, is what the elite wants. To control who wins (their friends) and who loses (their opponents). Biden is not on your side, neither is Harris, neither are the democRATs. Wake up. They hate you as much as they hate me. You're just useful to them because you bought into "orange man bad".

+1 CNBC is such garbage. I remember after the 2007 crash, they were saying that it was the government's fault for not regulating the financial industry. Then when the government tried to regulate it, they start whining about how they were going to screw everything up.

Same with Bitcoin...talking so much chit about it and when the price went down and all the big funds got in, started hyping it up.

They've proven to be a mouthpiece for the financial industry, and everything they say is probably manipulation for some bug hedge fund somewhere. Manipulating all the poor people's money into the rich people's pockets.

Well they aren’t wrong.

It needs smarter regulation AND the government do screw everything up.

But that’s going to happen when government and industry are a revolving door with the same interests

the sub reddit has gone up from 2.2M to 6.7M in less than a week, both political sides for the most part agree that this stinks of BS, and many are locking arms holding the line still goin strong. I think they will keep holding until the they bleed them completely dry. srs. Possibly once in a lifetime situation here with the perfect storm of a short squeeze to turn the tables on Wall St, I don't think people are going to fold easily. People see through the BS and all the dirty tricks they are trying to pull.

We shall see though.

it could well skyrocket. but the thing is what's the chances of that. i dont think theyre that high

getting in when it was sub 100, for sure that would have been smart. even if it tanked now, you'd have time to still get out with a profit

it tried and failed to climb any futher yesterday and was even down in after hours.

i saw that, too. There wasn't a whole lot of volume, though. Makes me think some of the Hedges were going back and forth to try and lower the price so they don't get blasted even further. I may be wrong, but we will see eventually

It seems like you are not comprehending what I write to you.

I'll try to spell it out for you...

I don't support liberals or conservative leaders. I believe that whether it's Bush, Obama, Trump or Biden it's the same chit, administration. Nothing changes.

Under Trump there were more bombings in 4 years on Afghanistan than under the 8 years of Obama, Drones strikes killing civilians continues, Trump pardoned blackwater mercenaries who killed 14 adults and children when they opened fire on an unarmed crowd, Trump signed an executive order that the CIA doesn't have to declare civilian deaths from drone strikes, Trump didn't pardon Assange, Snowden or Ulbricht, Trump is a Zionist who increased U.S. funding for the Israeli military, etc. They all say they are going to be different before they get into power. Obama was the 'change maker' candidate of Liberals, and Trump was the 'change maker' candidate of Conservatives... However...

Nothing changed!

I'm not like you. I'm not arguing about who is best in charge of the system, I arguing that the system needs to be dismantled. (Gradually of course, to avoid chaos.)

I want to go from a centralized system, to a decentralized system. If you want to know what I'm talking about, please watch this...

Do you understand that everything I've just written means that I do not support the Biden administration?

If after reading the above you still think that I support the Biden Administration and the Democratic party, then I think you must be trolling.

I've said to you before in previous debates, political philosophy is far more varied than Liberalism vs Conservativism. Those aren't the only 2 choices.

We are getting too political though, and I don't want to derail or get this thread moved, so that's my last post to you about politics.

I took the pic straight from Snopes. It's just one very small piece of the pie. I suggest reading the Snopes info and other publications, but you'll leave with more questions than answers, unless you want to discount everything to sleep better of course. Got in at $21.90 and out at $320. I made enough to pay off my house and then some, I'm happy. Didn't have balls of steel to hold through the weekend and it was driving me nuts. Checking WSB, checking GME every few min. I'm happy, set myself up well and I can just invest in safe ETFs now.
