Fiverr is an online freelance marketplace where buyers and sellers can exchange digital services for as little as $5.


Fiverr's Q3 2020 results recorded 88% YoY revenue growth, spurred by growth in it's active buyer base (3.1 million buyers in 2020 - 30% YoY growth). COVID19 obviously helped, as digital transformation for businesses of all sizes has accelerated.


The gig economy represents a $115 billion market; and Fiverr's 2020 revenue of 186 million represents one tenth of 1% of that market.


The long tail of the business is going to be moving "up-market" into the large enterprise space. 'Fiverr Business' is the product offering that will help the company get a foothold with these large bluechip companies. Early enterprise customers include L'Oreal and Unilever. Part of what makes this a viable product, is the fact that the talent pool for top tech talent isvery shallow. Fiverr allows organizations to hire top tech talent on a contract basis, for job titles like UX/UI Developer, SEO, Web Development, Analytics, and of course for non tech disciplines as well; Marketing, PR, Photoshop, Copywriting, content creation etc.



Fiverr's biggest direct competitor is UpWork; but Fiverr absolutely crushes UpWork in it's "take rate" (the amount of money that Fiverr collects in each transaction between a buyer and seller). Fiverr's take rate is 27%; whereas UpWorks is 13%.



As the WFH trend proliferates, I think the flexibility in contract work for many skilled professionals in tech and creative services will continue to be a draw; which obviously helps Fiverr.

No idea, but dont think we continue on this path much longer. Too much euphoria in almost everything. Stocks, RE, WSB, crypto, cars etc. Things will shift, people will get hurt, markets go down markets go up. Rinse wash repeat.

Markets seem to be showing signs of sputtering. 10-year Treasury Yields are way up, apparently that puts downward pressure on stonks. SHOP releases Q4 numbers destroying analyst expectations and still down 7% at open, even Tesla's upward ascent seems to have ceased. Tech still has a looooooong way to go though after such an insane run


Central banks could come in and increase interest rates, with all the debt people have taken on over the past year, and it would probably suck the air right out of stonks

Do you go for momentum stocks or just stocks with good fundamentals? How do you do your DD? Do you take profits or trim positions? Did you sell at the market crash in march, and will you sell if you supect a crash?

so to be honest a lot of the stocks i invest in don't have great fundamentals, as is common in these relatively lower market cap high growth tech stocks. The EPS is generally way out of whack on a lot of these stocks (SHOP and ZM for example) and would traditionally be considered over-valued by 'value' investors.

My DD begins with speaking to customers, friends, colleagues, contacts etc. at the biggest and best tech companies in the world, and just getting an understanding of cool new tech products they are using, and those products real-world utility. For example, I was working at LinkedIn in 2017 when I first came across Zoom. We had access and the ability to use any Web conferencing tool in the world; GoToMeeting, join.me, BlueJeans, Skype (MSFT Teams), WebEx etc.; but the common theme emerging was that most people internally preferred Zoom over everything else, colleagues and customers alike.

So when they IPO'ed it was a no brainer in my opinion.

Good luck investing your welfare check but many many people lose money in the market. Right now everything is up but it's not going to stay that way.
The 1% is in the 1% because they A. Took a Risk B. Invested their money C. Don't consume as much D. Actually teach their kids the value of money E. Don't make excuses F. They actually care about their subsequent generations.

The goal is not to be rich but to ensure that your subsequent generations are well-off. I'm 21 and will probably have between 50k to 100k to my name before 2022. If I can do it so can most people. However, I do understand that most people don't have that luxury because their parents failed them before they were even born. This is why I stopped caring about folks who are less fortunate in the West. Everyone has the ability to put 50$ away a week and invest that money.

My goal is to pass away with at least over a million dollar invested so that my kids will inherit that money and also invest it. I want them to get chunky dividend cheques every month. Does that make me evil? I'll clearly be a 1%'er if I can live off of dividends one day. Does that make me less than human in your eyes? The West lost it's way when it started thinking about their individual needs and the present instead of thinking about the future.

Edit: I've made a 15% return on my initial investment. Whether or not it crashed I don't really care. I'm a dividend investor.

The entire 2010's people were talking about the next stock market crash being right around the corner. It never happened. It could happen tomorrow, or we could get 5 - 10 more years of gains. Nobody has a clue. The best time to invest is yesterday. The second best is today.

Great thread... what do with around $50k savings that is otherwise sitting in a savings account getting wrecked by decreasing interest yields? At .45% APY it feels like it’s eroding but then again I agree with others here who say the end of COVID will bring about a big shift in the market (obv a guess) but I wanna buy a house in 3-5 years but don’t feel it’s a good idea to let cash just sit there.

Any ideas brahs??

-Oil and Gas
-Real Estate funds
-Pipelines and other utility companies

I would say those are all great stocks to invest in. Especially since they are all below market prices because of Covid. I expect those stocks to blow up once the major restrictions are lifted. Plus they dish out decent dividends.
