that stimulus bill moving along... when that hit the market we are going to have 1 maybe 2 SOLID weeks (let's pray)
x2 with tsla
a lot of hate about tsla and btc but tsla is more than a car company and crypto currency is going to be the future (maybe not btc).
also, amc and gme inching closer to the 16-19 of the month is going to leave us some some gains - they have to cover their short positions sooner rather than later... interest on shorted positions keep going up.

The troubling issue is that active funds (particularly ETFs) tend to fall victim to their success and the bigger they are the harder it is to continue beating the market. What makes Ark better/different than any of the other well performing ETFs (QQQ, SPDY, VOO)? If youlook at active funds historicallysince 2003 between 80-95% have either failed to beat the market over 3-10 year periods, shut the fund down completely, or simply rebranded themselves and started the fund over. And for those that believe in Cathie herself, when you look at herprevious track recordat AllianceBerstein it was hardly game changing. I mean maybe this time it is different? But the odds are clearly not in ARK's favor.

77% of QQQ's holdings are in VOO
13% of ARKK's holdings are in VOO
From a high level, VOO is the most important stock market index; QQQ is largely the same as VOO but with more weight towards tech/communications companies; ARKK is an almost entirely different set of holdings. ARKK has a higher expense ratio than QQQ, but I'd argue you actually get more value from paying that expense ratio in terms of portfolio diversification (you're paying someone to analyze securities and get companies into your portfolio that you can't just buy with VOO/QQQ). I won't get into any of ARKK's actual holdings, but just from a diversification standpoint, you get a ton of companies into your portfolio that you otherwise wouldn't have and can't just buy with an index fund. In some sense, I think ARK is setting the "index" for high-growth (20%+ annual growth) companies - ARK literally is becoming the market when it comes to capital allocation for companies in these developing industries.

More than just Elon saying the stock is too high, the company itself was dumping new shares on investors at like $400
Issuing new shares isn’t free of risk as more float dilutes financial metrics like EPS, so you know the company already thinks it was overvalued at $400ish to the point where they were willing to risk diluting key financial metrics to buy Bitcoin and shore up their balance sheet.
IMO you should be looking for companies so undervalued that they’re buying back shares, not companies so overvalued that they’re looking to take advantage of it by issuing new ones. With all the potential opportunities out there you could put funds to, it’s hard to imagine why you’d go for the latter from an investing standpoint
And since share buybacks are a way of returning capital to investors, new share issues would really be a way of reducing the power of your capital. The intrinsic value of the company doesn’t change regardless of what the stock price says, and you now own a smaller chunk of that company than you did before the new shares were issued

once tesla solar + powerwall improves, it's gonna be revolutionary. i hope they do because i want to install that chit + satellite internet (starlink/tesla or whoever is the cheapest by then) in my new house.

Fossil fuelsshouldhave its days counted, but it'll be a lot of days. Transitioning dependence away from 100,000,000 barrels per day of consumption will require decades of work and oil will be the reality in the interim. I'm happy to be part of providing what the world needs within regulatory framework that holds our projects to insanely high environmental standards -- I've been on jobs where we stopped work due to toad migrations and two tablespoons of any spilled liquid requires investigation and reporting.
Even as wealthy Western / Euro countries move further away from oil, basically all population growth is happening in Asia and Africa where many are barely at the front end of the fossil fuel adoption curve. Hopefully they can spend less time on it, but those areas will almost certainly be huge drivers of oil demand going forward and I don't think there's really any changing it, their economics aren't as robust as ours and they can't devote all this money to subsidizing the deployment of immature technology.
The future of power generation is also anything but certain. IMO nuclear is the only truly feasible non-O&G solution that'll provide the steady, reliable power the world needs. Renewables and batteries aren't gonna cut it, certainly not in all parts of the world and not as our power demands increase between tech advancements, population growth, and further development of Asia and Africa

It literally had better competition since year 1.
It was succesful for other reasons. Mainly because it's easy to influence people
