I did chest, pullups, and biceps yesterday (and ran around 4-5 miles). It wasn't a great one though, because my energy levels weren't particularly high.

Friday routine I always leave early, hit the gym and go for a long hike. Probably legs and upper chest today - may or may not do more.

I'll finish work and then head on over to the gym for legs then go for a 3-4km run at about 5 in the morning.
if you need someone to chat with, don't hesitate to shoot me a PM.

I know those feels - cutting currently and probably about 2/3 of my workouts are low energy, tough to get a pump, tough to hit heavy sets, etc.

What kind of direct ab work do you do? Imostlysubscribe to the idea that squats+deads are enough to get by for the core, but I do also add in wood choppers, ab wheel, and a few other movements along those lines. Things that kinda help with strengthening through different planes of movement other than just bracing.

Fuark bruh, running after hitting legs must suck - but do you notice it aids with reducing soreness? As long as I don't go more than 6 days between squat/leg workouts I usually don't get sore. But if I get delayed for whatever reason, one of the biggest things that helps for me is moving in general.

I should try hexbar farmers carries. I usually just grab heavy DBs and walk around with them but my gym's DBs only go up to 120....hexbar loading would let me do extra weight.

Get it bro!

Been out of town (and thus out of the gym) for a few days now - so will not have an actual lifting day until tomorrow when I hit the gym again.

But this weekend included a ton of hiking, and my sunburn gains are through the roof (ouch lol).

Gonna post up my workout tomorrow for ya'll, hopefully we can keep this thread rolling - I like the thought of miscers putting into text their workout plans/successes.

DBs 5's-30's in 5lb increments, 30's-70's in 10lb increments.

Adjustable bench

bands

pretty small setup I actually started Christmas of 2019 for when I didn't wanna take the time to drive to the gym before work, glad as fuk I did once covid hit

Wanna buy a house this year though and actually build a decent home gym in either garage or basement. Already know exactly what I wanna put in it.

I'm imagining it being done circuit-style, like minimal rest. Or at least a bunch of supersets. Very nice bruh!

Yeah I've priced out building a basic home gym on a few occasions, but I'm afraid to look at equipment costs now (I know covid put a massive premium on all available equipment).

Basement gym would be sick, bro. Do it.

It honestly did suck at first but only due to energy expenditure, not soreness since it was a hypertrophy focused leg day but still managed to pull out a solid 5km run. Pace and times sucked but that's because I'm still a beginner into it all. Didn't really feel much pain in my legs especially from DOMS until after the next day when everything was recovering

You should try doing some running when DOMS is at it's worst - just to see if it reduces the length of time it affects you..

Feeling like changing up my routine a little bit. I think I'm gonna do a lower body workout today, no upper/full body.

Not sure exactly what I'm gonna do but I think it'll look something like this:

Back squat 5x5
DL variation (not sure what set/rep scheme, but leaning towards a 3x5-8 snatch grip DL)
Continuous tension Goblet squats (no lockout or pause at the bottom)
Eccentric-focused GHR

Didn't get into the gym yesterday like I'd hoped, so really looking to get a hard WO in, and a dual-compound lower body WO is just the thing to accomplish that lol.

The amount of weight one can carry over a short distance is pretty enormous for me it's always around 90% of the Dealiftr 1RM, though professional strongmen or people with a bigger yard would probably do less weight.

Yeah I'll have to ask the gym's owner if he is cool with me taking equipment outside for it - there's no room in the gym to walk around with a hexbar.

Nice. Simple, straight forward. I like it man. No need to hit 50 different things every gym session.

Ended up doing a variation on that squat routine today - "supersetted" a heavy single with a lighter 3-4 reps immediately after, for five sets. Other than that my workout ended up just how I described. Did about 12 minutes on the stairmaster (cutting...) as well.

Since my previous workout was a purely lower body day, today I did upper.

Consisted of:

-Flat DB press 3*5
-Neutral grip lat pulldowns 4*6-8
-Neutral grip machine chest press 3*7-10 (The machine I used here is really unique, never seen one at any other gyms. It is similar (but with different leverage points) to the common one posted below. Provided a fukking sick chest pump, bruh...)

-Medley of anterior, lateral, posterior DB raises
-Wide grip seated cable Rows 3*10-12

Other than the DB pressing I went fairly easy on everything today. Basically just got a good pump everywhere because tomorrow I plan to hit some heavier compounds since I will be out of the gym for the following 2-3 days.

We will see exactly what I do, but currently planning a full body day with BB OHP, BB Row, Deficit deads, and hit some direct bi/tri work. Will probably throw in some more chest/delt pump work and quad extensions just for giggles, too. But we will see.

So what did ya'll hit today?
