Have you also looked into Haven and Pirate Chain?

I get ya... There's benefits to having a stash in the bank (e.g. wanting to legally change citizenship), but there are also benefits to being under the radar e.g. The DEX, and privacy coin route.

There's also a pretty obvious legalish way around it, and the more I read about how terrible the UK crypto tax system is the more likely that other path is the best route. (It would be foolish to say it publicly though, because they would close the loophole if enough people talk about it.)

Vitalik hyped this up on the Tim Ferris podcast, and it looks like the devs oversold it and even fooled him. He said "Rollups are coming very soon" and thought it was coming "around a month or so" back in March 10th.

Seems a bit strange to me that he was mislead by the devs. Maybe they just overestimated their ability?

When has a deadline in this space even come remotely close to being accurate. In 2016 they said they would have ethereum POS by 2018 and we would have raiden side channels.

Good point.

I have followed some projects that have been on time or have missed deadlines by a few weeks or so only, this however is 4 months.

Great point about ETH 2.0 promises. ETH 2.0 is still years away, just like Lightening network (developed enough to be usable by the masses and Apps, that is).

I have no emotional attachment or loyalty to a piece of technology.

I didn't feel bad about leaving behind VHS for DVDs, just like I wouldn't feel bad about leaving behind Ethereum for anything else.

I'm grateful to the ETH devs, but sticking with them if they don't get their act together would be like sticking besides Myspace, Alta Vista, Blockbuster, Kodak, etc.

I jumped in because I expected a 10Xminimumby EOY if we have a bull cycle until the end of the year, due to all the partnerships and buzz about projects moving to MATIC in ******** groups. I don't know now.

If AAVE announces on March 31st that they are moving to MATIC then they will be huge. The 2nd biggest DEFI project on ETH moving on to MATIC. If that doesn't pump MATIC then this market has no rationality.

What does the matic token actually do, is it just the gas fees on the matic network?

I think the gas fees are ridiculously cheap as well. I saw a game that is using matic say they hold like $500 of matic to cover gas fees for ALL their users.

Edit: heres the twitter thread, skyweaver says they have chosen matic as their scaling solution, they disclose they have $500 worth of matic to cover future fees. So seems even the companies adopting it don't have a material demand for matic token?

Fair point about it being cheap.

As the ecosystem on MATIC grows MATIC is needed to interact with the system in general.

Also trading using MATIC will be common as DEXes use MATIC, Quickswap uses MATIC for fees and it also uses MATIC as an option for buying other crypto. It's the first option given for trading on the DEX.https://quickswap.exchange/

Lending using MATIC has also began on number of platforms.


TLDR from a tweet on the subject:

- NFT minting with MATIC tokens (e.g. Opensea and Aavegotchi currently. ATARI's and Superfarm's platforms are coming.)
- Staking Matic tokens
- Gas fees in Matic token
- Fund raising in Matic tokens
- Matic tokens lending
- Matic tokens as collateral etc..
& its growing day by day.



As the network effect grows on MATIC the sheer volume of transactions will make up for the cheap transactions. Staking as a validator will give passive income.
